do the oven trick, ive had a little over 90% success rste doing this to cards, ive fixed probably 10 or so doing this.just make sure you put the card face down so the capacitors arent getting direct coil heat
The 7950GT KO that was in my bedroom PC had the same fate when a unused connector got stuck in the fan, and the chip overheated. :(
(That same PC is currently using an old Diamond Stealth 3D 2000 Pro from a Gateway 2000, that is the best card I had/have on hand that is PCI or PCI-e. D:)

you must put it in oven for 8 minuts on 200 celcius its not a joke your graphics card is not very broken its a little bit broken my graphics cad whas tottaly broken that i can't see anything i have repaired it by putting in oven if you don't believe search on google you will see this method resolders parts back together
@Devotedone901 type in Google AMD DRIVERS. it will guide you to the AMD site . you will see 5 blank bars you need to enter your info in. so 5 steps. enter at step 1: Notebook Graphics step 2: Radeon HD Series. step 3:Mobility Radeon HD 4xxx Series. step 4: choose your windows (xp, vista, windows 7 - 32 or 64 bit) step 5: press to download. uninstall your old driver first , and then reinstall the new downloaded driver. you can use the new setup for uninstall too,l
Put it in oven for ten minnutes, under 200 Celcius degree,reverse position after removing stickers and fan. everything you can. that will be fix your card at 95%
(1) You need to turn the fans up to 100 percent on those cards and have good air flow in the case. (2) Your card can probably be repaired by re-flowing the solder (baking). ATI cards do exactly the same thing when they are consistently over-heated. Physics does not have a brand bias.
@markoulas2 Might be a good idea but I can't wait that long and I wont pay that much so I bought a GTX 460 1GB which should be arriving soon. Also I'm used to Nvidia so that's what I'll go with....

card is working like a charm . you need the right VERSION driver.
go to the official Nvidea drivers website.
(not always does the latest driver work , if thats the case try a previous version before that).
do a good uninstall of the buggy driver and remove the nvidea folders from program files and/or application data folder.
clean windows temp folders ,in case the bug the fresh install.
clean the register with a reg cleaner.
restart after uninstall and cleanup.
reinstall the driver

Strip the fan and put it in the oven for 8 mins @200 C preheated!
Put under it some aluminum foil & balls to keep it lifted.
