oh my gosh....i was born in 1990 and I've never seen this before...but I had the audio book on cassette and it had this song at the end after the story finished and i remember it SO well. Thanks so much for posting. Man the 90s kids got it good. One of my first words was 'Ornithorhynchusanatinus'
i first watched this when i was 5 or 6 which was 7 or 8 years ago. ever since seeing it i collect kangaroos. i used to make two of my fingers jump around, and everybody was asking me what i was doing. when i told them they thought it was adorable. but if i did that now they would think im a crazy retarted creep of a 13 (14 in a month and 25 days) year old. this was always my favorite movie. it still is!!
@MJJslilgrl Heh, seriously I think it might actually do this IP good than bad. As this generation of kids have very little than we had back in the days of childrens tales.
...and I thought they did "ok" with Yogi. Alot better than Scooby Doo^^;
i am a 40 yr old man, who's very respected by colleagues, friends and family; responsible for over 110 people in a 100 million dollar operation, very good looking, very educated and intelliigent.... and I like to dance and prounce around the house in my underwear singing the "dot in the pouch" song... I know I will eventually get caught and they will put me away, as they should, because Im going to eventually murder my neighbors
Dear gods I love this, brings back good memories. Thanks so much for uploading all these vids Zarla!!!! and I agree, In the pouch was my most favorite song as well
my mom showed me this movie for the first time when we lived in juniper green scotland. and i was hooked...along with postman pat and basil brush and the last unicorn...but watching the song in this movie made me cry a bit...such fond fond memories. i miss childhood and all its magic.
thank you so much for this! The sound the kangaroo first makes took me right back to being 5/6 again. I've been looking for it on dvd but cant find it on region 2. I loved it watched it all the time!!
I love Dot too... I remember crying at the end of this movie. LOL I was so sad they wouldn't be together anymore. HAHA. Now at the age of 27 it's sweet nostalgia.
as a teenager it's so strange watching this - knowing that when i was little this was like my life, this film evoked so many emotions for me and subsequently still does today. yet, if anyone my age was flicking through the channels and thiis came up, they would probably just go to the next channel! i love dot :)
i am 36 years old and this is so much a part of my childhood. i still remembered after 29 or 30 years the some of the words to "ride in the pouch of a red kangaroo"
I was just on MLIA and one of the MLIAs was an Aussie saying that while visiting China they convinced a Chinese bloke that Australian kids rode kangaroos to school. Someone commented on it saying quoting part of this song. i was like "NO WAY!! Dot and the Kangaroo!" so then came looking for it on YouTube :P
its like one of those movies you always remember but u just cant think of the name of it then you look it up and oh man you just have flashbacks of when you were like 5 or 6 bouncing around like a kangaroo! i love those songs they really dont make em like that anymore....no way! thnx 4 the video its awsome a true classic!
I used to be obsessed with this when I was 4 or 5. I used to go around the house with my mums kitchen apron on because it had a huge pocket on the front.
Score! I finaly found one of my early childhood shows. Now I need to find the one where these kids and their pet lizard go underground to a Lizzard world. Any help?

@phyerboss Well, I think it depends on how you raise the kids. My sister's only four and she loves Shirley Temple and Gene Kelly, purely because I do.
And, to be honest, I haven't seen "Yogi," I always say, "if it's not broken, don't fix it." But they do, like with "Casper" and "Garfield." :(
