The later Dream Land games (and Kirby 64) were not directed by Sakurai, who apparently preferred to do things his own way.

But yeah, KDL3's abilities were a bit... weak. Not only just having one move, but... weak-looking. Although using animal friends improved them a bit.

At least K64 had JEDI KIRBY, even if it still had one move per ability.

Kirby's Dream Land 2 had similarities to Kirby's Dream Land 3, but there ARE NOT THE SAME THING!

It's a sequel, not a remake. The final boss is different, in fact most of the bosses are. Two more characters are available. The final weapon is not the same. Even the darn plot is different.

So, with everything other than who the main villain is, the return of the animal friends from KDL2 and this boss right here, different game.

Yes I quite agree. The idea of a Dark Dedede final smash is similar to the idea of a Devil Kirby final smash, from the show Hoshi no Kaabii: it sounds cool at first, but when you think about it... it's not even his own power (it's dark matter for DDD and the Devil Frog for Kirby). I think the Big Gay Dance is really a good final smash for Dedede, because it involves his minions doing the work for him, which reflects his character pretty well.
