Hey Brent. Love your videos. How about a drop shot in that instance if your opponent is back, or are drop shots either overrated or executed poorly? Thanks. Bill.
@webtennis, I'd really appreciate it if you watched my video and gave me some tips, it'd only take 5 minutes of your time. Do you think my hands are too stiff on the backhand, I'm going to change that a bit.
And if you know anything about college tennis, I'd apreciate some advice on what division to look at being recruited/playing in.
@anthonystead12 Hi Anthony. Good looking strokes. Really need to see some points and how you construct them. Gotta see the serve, the transitional shots, the volleys, the overheads, the returns of serve... the entire package.
I was trying this strategy today and it worked great, except for I kept getting lobbed and losing the point! I was going to about the middle of the service box. Is that too far up? How can I prevent getting lobbed and losing the point?
whenever someone asks me, who's your coach, i say; Brent Abel. I don't have a real coach, but i've improved my play by leaps and bounds APPLYING the tips you've taught, especially my ball toss for the serve. BIG THANKS! COACH.
well, having in mind that it is an "approach shot" instead of "put away shot" is not special to this shot. In fact only in ace service you intend to "instant win", but that is possible because you have an extra one in case of faillure. Even Federer plays every shot as if the ball is going to come back, whatever incredible speed/angle/effect he puts in. In tennis you win in putting the ball one more time in court than your opponent.
This is a shot I've always been tight on, whether it be I over hit it or just place it back in the court. I agree completely with the approach shot philosophy, but something you didn't hit on completely that you did with your shot was the impressive angle. If you can place that shot in the challenge zone opposite of your opponent's current position, regardless of pace, the next ball will usually be much easier to handle. Thanks for the video
The BOOM shot was wide out lol. Good vids as usual Brent

great help. I think the 2 shot rule will allow me to play tennis and not worry about when I am going to win the point.

Brent, tip was nice. But the ball you hit went out. Why not get a take that you win the point?

@drumsfightingandstuf Sounds too close. Play your approach and then set up just inside the service line. Brent
