Actually, almost the entire project is on PUBLIC land, and almost every single person here is up in arms against it. The only people in favor of it, are a small number of businesses, the steering committee who happen to be making money from it in conflict of interest, and people who do NOT live here. It's being built on 6000+ acres within walking distance of thousands of people.
Yes, permits, a building plan, state and local approval and funding have all been obtained. This is part of an ongoing work cutting trails in preparation for the public opening of a new, legal off-road recreation area on formerly privately-owned land. No legal public hunting land or OHV trails are being taken away.
do you people have permits to cut the forest down????? last time i checked it was against the law to do what you are doing there are plenty of paths already here don't have to take the hunting woods away!!!!!!
