  • dude francois pienaar is so lucky i live in canada 10 000 miles away from south africa and nelson mandela is my all time hero i wish i could shake his hand and tell him my faith in humanity is almost re-established because of him.

  • @Nath1356. You, alas, are a person of very limited and infantile vocabulary. Whilst an estimated some 18,000 of his kith-and-kin were murdered by the ANC terrorist scum since they were handed power in 1994 (over 3,500 farmers and their families alone in the platteland), the traitor Pienaar was prepared to hob-nob with the unreconstructed terrorist leader Mandela himself. He, and the likes of Nath1356 are beneath contempt.

  • South Africa is the most romantic country on our globe ! Even France doesn't come anywhere close... And that says something... I have written my MA thesis on apartheid. The land, the people, the mosaic of countless cultures and customs... So grand ! Wow... I wish You luck in everything You endeavor, my dearest fellow South Africans ! :-)

  • @ProperMuzik You couldn't be more right

  • @AlanDHarvey you are a dickhead for saying that

  • ohh my just watched invictus and thought i should search up whats what AND THE FILMS ABOUT TRUE EVENT MYY GOSH

  • 2 men who changed a whole nation for the better. what a truly inspirational and touching story this is.

  • 1 New Zealand fan disliked this

  • @fusheandmoom I happen to be a Kiwi and quite frankly, was very happy to watch the Springboks win just as much as I would have been pleased to see the All Blacks win. Kiwi's are quite supportive of other countries, if I may say so myself :)

  • @viioleettt

and we have great respect for you guys and your team. . . .but i fuckin hate you guys when we're both on the field

    (Springboks)

  • stark difference with zimbabwe where they had an awful leader and a disastrous situation. south africa could have gone that way.

  • Having watched Invictus, I now realise why Nelson Mandela was/is such an incredible inspiration and hero to many! He wielded a weapon beyond the comprehension of 99.99% of the world. A weapon that doesn't destroy, but heal - FORGIVENESS!

  • The world needs South Africa.

    Go baby go.

  • Probably our best captain ever!!:D Second best...John Smit:)

  • Ha de ser increiblemente maravilloso, sentir orgullo por un líder de tu país, no como aquí en mexico que tenemos puros cerdos como políticos, que dan pena, son criminales con licencia.

  • THE GREAT SOUTH AFRICAN SPIRIT PREVAILED, WE SET AN EXAMPLE TO THE REST OF THE WORLD. AGAINST ALL ODDS THANKS TO PEOPLE LIKE FRANCOIS AND MADIBA, THE UNIFIED SOUTH AFRICAN NATION CREATED A LEGACY THAT WILL LIVE ON FOR ETERNITY. THE GREATEST RUGBY NATION AND TEAM WILL WIN RUGBY WORLD CUP 2011!! SPRINGBOK POWER / SOUTH AFRICAN UNITY - THE RAINBOW NATION, THE GREATEST NATION

  • put mandela, gandhi and mother teresa together as the only three rulers of the world.....you will have peace, happiness and compassion!

  • @djiomo Umkhonto we Sizwe motto was Peace Happiness and Compassion?

  • amazing man madiba's...... we need more people like Nelson Mandela in this world!!! ...... Long life to Nelson mandela !!!!!

  • l love the story

  • wow...thank you for this

  • INSPIRATIONAL!!

  • The film was flawed in the way Hollywood gets its hooks into stories and scripts like this, but less flawed than usual, and the rugby sequences were better than any sports sequences in any film I think I've ever seen--not a detriment or a drag, as they usually are. Most likely that's because until the end, the play was always shown at full speed, no slo-mo, so you could get a feel for the speed and power of the game. Several falsish moments other than that, but definitely worth it.

  • What an outstanding video!!! Thanks to whoever posted it!!

  • I HOPE INDIA ALSO GETS A LEADER LIKE MADIBA...........THIS GUY IS MORE CHARISMATIC THAN ANY OTHER LEADER ...LONG LIVE MADIBA

  • @MegaLenio

India already had Mahatma Gandhi, who was an inspiration to Madiba. Yes, long live Madiba!!!

  • who's madiba?

    mandela?

    nelson mandela is madiba?

  • @nestorrfortuna Yes Madiba is Mandela's tribal name and thats what everyone in South Africa calls him by

  • I just watched the movie. Inspirational.

  • I don't know if Nelson Mandela overtly identifies with Christianity, but I have a very hard time imagining how somebody with Mandela's character and vision does not represent what I as a believer in Jesus Christ asprie to be like.

  • @Critter145

A person does not need to be a Christian to achieve greatness or perform good works.

  • @zombie12 I completely agree.

  • @Critter145

Its about doing well without having the need for a seet in heaven. I respect your believe but please don't think believing in Jesus Christ is the only step for being good. I hope you can see that.

  • Awesome...2 amazing leaders...people can change

  • king of kings. We need more leaders like this in the world.-

  • i would love to see MANDELA and Pienaar show up for South Africa's first world cup match in soccer 2010 vs Mexico.. how about it guys..? i know its a little late..its 20 something hours away.. GO South Africa..

  • Just watched the film Invictus... Brought tears to my eyes...

  • ESPN just did a documentary film on this story... YouTube wont let me post the link, but just search for ESPN's 30 for 30 and the name of the film is "The Sixteenth Man." I just watched it last night. I highly recommend it, its an incredible story.

  • Great movie and great moment in history. Glad it made it to the big screen otherwise we would never have known.

  • Legends, loved the film was hard to watch NZ lose again but great great story

  • I think everybody should just give a thumbs down to DaSlug32's comment...

  • I just watched Invictus and i must admit, i was ignorant of the importance of this match. It is quite humbling to see such a real-world story played out so beautifuly in the name of humanity.

  • Ja, hierdie is 'n mens =) Wonderful man, wonderful stories.

  • I can't stop thinking of Mandela as Morgan Freeman lol

  • Morgan Freeman is a great actor and perfect in the movie but only Mandela can be Mandela. Don't forget it.

  • me too! :))

  • 2 great leaders complimenting each other..great video...

  • great video,respect from london

  • In a world full of paper tigers, comittment-less characters and other deceivers, Nelson Mandela emerges as a natural, responsible and human leader. Right Leader, at Right Time.

  • Thanks for your post, by the way

  • Went to South Africa about 2 years ago.

You have to be there to feel the influence Mandela has over the country.

You have to talk to people, and it's not hard to sense how south africans, white or black, know without Mandela, things would have gone wrong, the way things went in Zimbabwe or Mozambique.

  • @DaSlug32 ignorance!! rather reserve your spew

  • Great video !

Right leader at right time, there should be more Mandelas..

  • 2 heroes, respect from Romania!

  • great post! 5*

  • I saw the movie today. What can I say about Madiba, a great man, wish there were more people like him to lead the world. A great history lesson at the movies.

  • @MedellinTraveler yes, a great man. And well played by Morgan Freeman in the new movie. Am glad to see the real Captain who was also well played by Matt Damon, saw the movie today!

  • Francois Pienaar for President!

  • Saw the film last night at a pre-screening. INCREDIBLE story and very well portrayed. So many heart warming moments made me cry. I love Madiba and he is an inspiration to us all !

  • @madhed true, i cried too. very good film.

  • me too

  • What a great contribution to YouTube. Many thanks for posting it.

    And many thanks, Madiba!

  • @jjohannson

You said it, on both counts.

  • nice1....1 love to mandela and all people of sa

  • Thanks Katyusha for sharing.. it is a beautifull explanation and I wish SA and Madiba and the former Springbok Captain all the best in the way forward.

  • @intrepeco I hope their friendship will last as long as they both live. thats very historic.

  • I watched the live broadcast of the 1995 final, and I must way that I had tears in my eyes when the final whistle blew and the Boks took the Cup.
