I agree this situation will generally be good for consumers in the long run. In the short run, I do wish there was a really strong alternative to the iPad since I am simply not an Apple fan.

How long can Apple keep going like this? Hard to say. The Cellphone's they will be able to probably continually upgrade every two years or so but the iPad(#) sales cycles are more questionable.
