The "race" field on the Hawaii birth cert application was self reported, meaning that either Stanley Ann Dunham or Barack Obama Sr answered it that way. It is not about how others viewed Barack Sr. It is about how he viewed himself. The Hawaii Dept of Health had no issues with the term "African" appearing on their forms.
The proof is in the fact that the Hawaii Dept of Health has certified publicly in official statements that Obama was born in Hawaii. They issued his birth certificate. Are you saying its a forgery? Since then, the document (COLB) that Obama provided is the only type of birth certificate that is issued by the State of Hawaii. It is a valid, legal, State certified birth certificate. If you are from Hawaii, and you order a copy of your birth certificate, that is the document they give you.

The State of Hawaii will not issue birth certificates saying you were born there if you weren't born there. They will issue a certificate that will state the country of origin.
"If you were born in Bali, for example, you could get a certificate from the state of Hawaii saying you were born in Bali. You could not get a certificate saying you were born in Honolulu. The state has to verify a fact like that for it to appear on the certificate."

Look, we can go round and round with these arguments, but what it will take is a full investigation by SCOTUS to determine the clear, unclouded and definitive definition of Natural Born Citizen. Someone much more versed than I in English common law was explaining to me the WKA ruling was flawed because they didn't understand the subtleties of English common law. The sovereign in England was passed jus sanguinis and the sovereign in the US, being the CITIZEN itself, is still passed jus sanguinis, not jus soli. You would do well studying English common law if you wish to reference it.

Since then, the document (COLB) that Obama provided is the only type of birth certificate that is issued by the State of Hawaii. The reason for that is clear: anything officially printed has to have note of the legal status of the record.

Look, we can go round and round with these arguments, but what it will take is a full investigation by SCOTUS to determine the clear, unclouded and definitive definition of Natural Born Citizen. That's what we were hoping for with Kerchner v. Obama, but SCOTUS punted it. In fact, Clarence Thomas is on video admitting SCOTUS was evading the issue. If the issue is totally clear, why duck the issue? There is obviously force of argument on both sides to cause such consternation on their part.

They are not interchangeable since citizen does not mean subservient to a sovereign. Someone much more versed than I in English common law was explaining to me the WKA ruling was flawed because they didn't understand the subtleties of English common law. The sovereign in England was passed jus sanguinis and the sovereign in the US, being the CITIZEN itself, is still passed jus sanguinis, not jus soli. You would do well studying English common law if you wish to reference it.

@noliesundead From what I understand, and an expert in English common law may correct me, to be an English 'natural born subject' the father must FIRST be an English 'natural subject' (though alien born) and the child must be born within the domain of England. Still jus sanguinis and jus soli. The Grey court appears not to have understood this. And this still ignores the transference of the sovereign, which is strictly jus sanguinis in English Common Law, not jus soli.

He's never lived in the UK, never voted in a UK election, never served in the British military, and whatever British citizenship he had was lost in 1963 when the UK pulled out of Kenya.
