Because Yoshimitsu looked nothing like that in the two Tekken games previous to this. Never had an actual face. Always wore some type of Kabuki Mask.

I watched the vid and it is the Japanese version where Sophitia was taking bath in the river naked when a god showed up. The European and American versions have her wearing a white sleeveless dress. Also, Li Long's weapon here is the bladed nunchaku, not a three-section staff. I still have the Japanese version of Soul Edge given to me by a friend 8 years ago and it is still working like clockwork. This game makes it to my top three fighting games along with Tekken 3 and Bushido Blade 2.

98 was such an amazing year for videogames. Sould Edge, MGS, FF7 awaiting for FF8 to come out. This opening was one of the most stunning CG ever done up to this moment and really showed what the PS was capable of.

That's really a masterpiece of an intro (on the other hand also the game is state of art),great,galvanizing,enthral­ling rhythm,melody and singing perfectly synched with the animations. All this merged in a stunning cg fmv even for the actual standards. Probably the best one ever! :)

It's like everyone and (ignorant) reviewers say that Soul Calibur is the first and best game in the series. Uhh.... no.
