  • Why this video start from episode 101.. where are the rest?

  • I start to learn photography with Brian Peterson... I like him so much .. I read almost all of his books... and I enjoyed every video made by Brian... load of respect....

  • when are you in Sna Diego?

  • Just a quick point. You can be either in full manual mode (and full, half etc. power), or you can set the flash to expose for f/22. They would be contradictory except for the special case where the distance from the flash to the object being photographed (in metres) is exactly the flashes guide number divided by 22. Nice photo though. Greetz

  • great scots!

  • bryan's hair reminds me of Ted Williams, the guy with golden voice

  • Bryan reminds me of doc brown from back to the future. lol :)

  • he reminds me of a crazy weather man!! hah love these video's...

not complaining about the sound but interested as to why it's not so great in yor video's... What is the reason?

  • this shouldn't bee free!

  • awesome teacher!! also reminds me of the back to the future professor.

  • Hello from Romania.Nice video. All the best to you.

  • Unorthodox means, I would rather use graduated neutral density filters for landscapes... But if it works, why not eh...

  • He uses unorthodox methods...overast skies and drops the f-stop to almost closing....lol. But there is a method to his madness...Nice!!

  • The best to you Bryan!! God bless!!

  • i love this man... thanks!

  • Good video. I think I like the longer and more detailed Mark Wallace videos, but there is definitely lots to learn here.

Personally, I would have preferred a little less light on the foreground, I think it is too obviously lit, and it distracts from the background, but obviously, it is the technique which is important, not the actual result, which in the end is a matter of taste.

With all the recommendations, it looks like I'm going to be getting "Understanding Exposure" pretty soon.

  • Hi Bryan. Love your series. I watch you more then I watch others. You have a unique way of teaching. BTW. That ship in the background going from right to Left, you must've shot with the 900 right after the shot without it because the video shows it far left. Smiles. Keep up the good work. Must've been cold in Seattle.

  • Why does Bryan Peterson remind me Nick Nolte?

  • Bryan is amazing! Love the way he explains! But we still love you Mark ;)

  • great one some more plssss....

  • Excellent Idea to have videos on lightning!! There are so many things to learn in this field to become better photographers. I would prefer starting from the basics E.g How to efficiently operate a flash manually?

  • Bryan could explain how to preset the focus to 1 meter which you are taking in your video.

  • More Byan Peterson! ... Check out his other vids ... Search 'ppsop'

  • now if only Adorama had a deal on pocket wizards..

  • Funny guy :D Like Marco Pierre White in photography field :D

  • What a great bloke; cant wait to see more from him - excellent channel

  • I didn't know Nick Nolte is a photographer?

  • Thanks that was really amazing!!!

  • Great tip, thanks very much, I'm going to give it a try!! BTW, I've walked by that very bush on Alki!!

  • @altitudealchemy Me too! :D

  • Nice, more Bryan Peterson!

  • What happened to your FLW magenta filter.....? You said in a older video that you almost always use that filter for skylines.....LOL! good video, glad to see you are back and doing videos on youtube... and a whole show with adorama, that is awesome....

  • hey Adorama, Thanks for putting Bryan to work in these online series.

What i liked about this basic presentation was he took the time to rattle off the metrics needed to get that shot. I thought, "where was this series when i first started?"

excellent presentation for entry level. Looking forward to more!

(i'd have suggested a cable release/wireless remote to get better light painting-though lovely as it was)

  • Looks like an episode from the 60's! :)

  • Understanding exposure is my bible, It is whet I tell people to buy when they want to learn how to take photographs...I really expected More when I saw this series. Come on who doesn't know that already? I realize this is episode 1 maybe it will get better.

  • MOAR BRYAN

  • Shouldn't it be Ep. 201 ?

  • Mad as a bag of cats, love it!

I'm exhausted just watching, but very inspired

  • 8 People so far just don't get it !

  • Great to see Peterson on youtube again. Inspirational as always....

  • Thank you Adorama TV. I am a professional photographer that has been shooting for years, but I still like to watch and learn from other professionals. Every once in a while (more often than not) you'll have some arrogant little piss ant say something disrespectful about the picture and/or professional, but thank goodness you at Adorama ignore that and keep giving us great learning tips. So once again thank you to Adorama and welcome Bryan.

  • u speak too fast

  • @vikramsp go search philip defranco. HE speaks fast, this dude is totally understandable.

  • this guy is really good.... thank god he doesn't shit on about "how to use this button for idiots" ... like 90% of other videos!!

  • Nice guy and everything, but this photo is nothing special.

  • Bryan is fantastic,More Please and thank you..

  • terrific voice. sounds like a reporter/weatherman.

  • Bryan Peterson is fantastic! I love it!

  • what a beautiful composition!

  • @Nickandthisisgood I think he is actually reducing the dynamic range. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong about that.

  • If you dont know who "this guy" is you must have only had your camera a few days or you have never tried to learn how to use it. Bryan is a fricken genius at teaching this stuff. He could make rocket science easy to understand. Go buy understanding exposure and you will be amazed. As for as video quality not being as good. Really? That's why you watch this stuff? So if the guy filmed himself farting for a hour in high def you would like it more than a video with substance filmed analog? Annoyin

  • its just another way of increasing the dynamic range, isnt it?

  • Super excited about this new show!!! Thanks Bryan keep them coming please! :)

  • Glad to see Adorama bring Bryan back, he's my favorite instructor. Looking forward to his upcoming flash book.

  • I like this. This is my kind of Photography

  • that sounded so simple..

  • @logankipgen lol. you took the words right out of my mouth. Bryan made this sound so simple that even I could do it.

    Cheers

    Jim

  • NIKON BABY!!!!!

  • FYI for the haters....Bryan Peterson's book Understanding Exposure has been one of the most recommended books on photography of all time. So this guy knows what he is talking about.

  • Please Keep Brian here. He is a master of his craft!

  • Just love the way you present the new show.. :)

  • I a weirdo kind of way he reminds me of Bob Ross but without the funky beard :-D

  • Great to see you on AdoramaTV Bryan. I love your other videos and you are already a great addition to this channel.

  • greaqt info as always !!!

  • Great idea! Great books too!

  • It's good to have a new show, however i'm use to better quality videos that Mark does. The new guy seems like a good teacher. Lets see how a in-studio video looks first before we pass too much judgement.

  • @bornetube Or before YOU pass to much judgement.

  • @80M83R Yes, true.

  • yyyyyyyoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo mi friend brian `sup man miss you so much by the way i hope this combination betwen you and adorama to be the best in the world

  • What a great addition to Adorama! He is a great photographer.

  • Great to see Bryan with adorama, he rocks

  • Great job Bryan!

  • What happened to Mark Wallace?

  • @fotografjura90

This is a new show, Mark is still doing his shows.

  • @fotografjura90 follow him on twitter or facebook and you'd know what's new to AdoramaTV, also check the older videos on AdoramaTV's youtube channel he explains everything.

  • Good to see you Brian :) Nice video.

Would appreciate if you can explain the settings a bit more in detail..

  • YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!

  • Hey, he said Adorama weird. Mark says it correctly.

  • Nice concept and contrast, but I think it's a little overdone. The flowers look too lit up.

  • Jump cuts, nooooo. This shit just wouldn't fly with Mark.

  • I liked the first picture more.

  • I loved that. :)

  • I love this. So much energy. Makes me wanna run out and shoot.

Mark is nice 'n' all, but I love someone who is a bit more "real".

  • Hi I've got your Understanding Exposure book (bought it many years ago and it changed my life, just wanted to say thanks

  • Please bring back Mark!

  • gracias por compartir tus conocimientos Bryan excelente tecnica de uso del flash. pero la verdad no me gusta tu forma de presentar las cosas. no ves a la cámara, y no te explicas mucho.

  • @jhnaveenjh I agree but please get a better camera for the video recording :(
