Hi Stef, why do you take a centralised approach when dealing with the distribution of your podcasts and books? Maybe a distributed approach may be more economically viable now the volume of downloads have increased. A public/private torrent tracker subscribed to by subscibers could save you a ton of ca$h.

There are many different reasons why people call even after this serious consideration that will be similar to my reasons that i feel the need to share right now. @aghoranathi I must say that i was raised the similar way to the freedom of choice of stefs daughter but i had a mentally ill mother who verbally abused me, she also told my father that prejudice was not ok and that her children would have a total religious freedom, so what good things and what bad things do i have? I have had to work hard at not being a sociopath but i have a very enlightened skill in philosophy and advaitian religion, ie, i am another you. :)

A 486-DX25 would have had about 1 to 4 MB of RAM. We were well into the Pentium era when we broke into triple digit RAM sizes. My old DX25 had 4MB and I was the envy of my friends. ;)

@stefbot Only recently, and not long ago Youtube were very publicly losing millions every month in bandwidth. It's not even clear now if they're making big profits, but even if they are, they weren't in the past. I think you should appreciate the $15 the person gave, not turn it into a negative, because maybe they did go through a lot of your podcasts but there are lots of places online that give away tons of material and don't ask anything so you are competing in a tough market.

@stefbot Ah, I'm with you now. Was trying to figure what you meant by turn off the wireless when you were using the headphones wirelessly - I've seen you with them on wired so was rather confused by that. They use the 2.4Ghz band, the same as wifi, and would seem from what you say to not play niceley with other gear - don't know why that should be as there's many channels to pick from. Oh well. Thank you again for your time; it is appreciated.

@stefbot I'm not a technical genius but your headset runs on 2.4hz the same as most router signals, if you change the channel on your router this may solve the problem. Like I said I'm no genius but it's worth a try as I had a similar problem when my neighbour was using the same channel and router as myself I changed the channel and my network speeds rocketed. Hope this helps if you haven't tried it already.

Stef, when you are doing traps it's better if you don't do the circling movement, it can hurt the shoulder joint. Just lean forward 5º, straight back and go up trying to touch your ears and down, straight movements. The brain excersise is flawless :)

Stefan should close all those servers and just use youtube and UStream, and maybe iTunes or something. These days it is totally unnecessary to have a centralized server. He could even post his stuff on torrents. I don't see any justification for dropping this kind of money on a crappy server. If he put some ads on youtube he would even get paid. Also, I'd much rather hear Stefan advertise random products that he approves of, rather than talk about donations. Let the market work.

@digitallando I think you have it backwards if you look to find meaning in that which is external to life, specifically your life. It is not the case that if there is no afterlife, that life becomes meaningless. If there was an afterlife, it would be that eternal afterlife that would be by far the most meaningful, leaving the tiny blip of this life in fact rather meaningless. However if it is the case that if there is no afterlife, then this life means everything!

Stefan, have you looked into leasing a dedicated bandwidth pipe rather than buying blocks of gigabyte traffic? I've run my own server (till recently) for over a decade and saved insane amounts of money with a dedicated pipe. You can push 1500 gig a month through a 10 mbts pipe without significant bottle necking. That for me was $100. a month. Much bigger pipes can be had for not much more.
