where on the west coast can you get the most affordable marina fees? where are floating marinas? cheapest... anywhere from mexico to canada... any ideas? cool video
The posters of this vid seriously depress me. All this talk about going somewhere and fixing up the boat, followed by a post of some stupid hydroponic pipe, followed by nothing! Please please PLEASE tell me you two are still on track with the plan!
That boat could potentially bring you the ultimate in freedom and happy times. Please post a new vid of you guys cruising to Raratonga or someplace SOON!
Do you know the Boat unit number this is? My dad bought the #2 out of the mold. In Rhode Island from Mr Pearson. We lived in Barrington at the time and we kept her moored in the Barrington Harbor. I would be interested to know. I don't know if there is a history of this boat or if there is a tracking of hull numbers. This Boat was the pride and joy of my Dad's. He still talks about it. I have fond memories of sailing to Marblehead, Ma. on the weekends...just for Goofs.
@par4par72 I believe the hull number is like 368... they made about 450 of these boats. Even after moving off of Traveler onto another (roomier) boat, I still believe the Vanguard to be one of the finest boats ever built.
the weird voice is the cat, i am glad i watched this video, now i know if i live aboard my boat, i will turn into an isolated hermit weirdo. what was up with the girl not saying a word...
@StormHammer420 You mean, as in high seas, constant waves, inevitable sea sickness and consequent vomit like that of a pig? No "arable land," grilled stakes to die for, juicy southern succulent ribs to kill for, racks upon racks of dried ribs, backyard barbeque, ugh baby -- I'm salivating! But you're right; "no thrill = no life!" You're obviously a thrill seeker like myself... May I wish us both well in that regard in the seas of life? No challenge = absolute misery!
Dude, look at your EYES for God sakes, seek therapy! YOU look bored out of your mind! You and your girl seem like you're going INSANE living by yourselves. Not everyone can deal with a solitary lifestyle? So now that you're OUT of the Rat race, Mars next? It's nice to save DINERO on the rent, but NON-STOP at sea? Sell that flotilla and get a life!
So naturally the first thing that comes to mind (For needed things such as parts) would be money. How did you manage to support yourself? What could you impart to people like me wishing to begin?
awesome!!!! love it. pearson- great boat. hydroponic gardening- amazing work. go cross the atlantic. or just go somewhere and enjoy life. ya'll rock. never give up!
Could you make more videos about living aboard? I live in Maryland and plan on living aboard in a few years when I graduate. Any information is much appreciated.
Awesome guys, me and my girl just got a 30 ft Newport, it's docked in San Pedro, Ca. Were kinda nervous because it is a bit cramped and she has alot of stuff we will need to get rid off. It should be a fun experience :)
Dude, just sail to Jamaica first and you can pick up a few lbs of spinach for real cheap. Then you don't have to worry about the hydroponic setup. Have fun!
Enjoyed videos...am about to paint top sides and would love just a little guidance. I stripped her along textured walk area. I know sand and remove wax and dirt...with what do you use? Did you prime and was going to use Pettit easy-poxy topside paint. Love to hear it from the hydroponic expert. Nothing like being self-sufficent on a sailboat. I use about 2 gal of diesel a season. THANKS Nancy
Call West Marine, only the Sausalito, Ca. store. Ask for Michael Priceless. He has worked there for 29 yrs. Built and sailed most sort of boats, Quite Handy.
Good luck to you. You've got a good boat. I have a 1969 Pearson Wanderer 30' that is practically bullet proof! Have you heard of Lin and Larry Pardy? Keep on posting, it's great you're living your dream. Be safe.
Thank you for posting, I enjoyed it. My recommendation; don't do the ocean crossing. There is just too much disorganization evident from what I see. Regardless, good luck.
I thought it was a great video. I plan on living on a boat in the next year or two. First I have to learn how to sail. It's good to see that people do it and that they can do it for an extended period of time.
