  • Absolute respect to David Strahan... just look at the world economy now (April 2009) and it is going to get a lot worse!!!

Peak Oil HAS to be brought into the mainstream like 'global warming' and aired on the mainstream media like the BBC... it is of primary importance to all our lives.

Isn't it ironic, that peak oil is actually the ultimate solution to 'global warming'?...

...but do we really want to let it get that far???

  • When it comes down to the crunch I think countries like the UK will fare much better than most due to our strong currency.

As oil supplies really start to hit the upper limits of production capability then the market will price poorer countries out. As it is right now in the UK the majority of fuel price is taxation so there is much scope for a reduction or freeze on prices if required.

Conversely the poorer countries will get priced out, countries which already have to subsidize fuel use.

  • This is where democracy fails. It works fine when all is going well. As soon as there is some real crisis, It cannot take the tough decisions needed. The presenter cant get her head round it either. Our government relies on giving us what we want, not what we need in return for votes. Read David's book. its spot on.

transition towns might be the best way forward . failing that a revolution and lets get rid of the idiots in suits before its too late!
