@wassup986 the multiplayer is dead. very unfortunate. for UT multiplayer, ut99 is king

@wassup986 There is not a whole lot of people on the servers. You can usually find a game with about 8 players or so. But there are a lot of rooms that are empty, thus liting your room choices.

I see that there's a "classic weapons" mutator, which gives the rocket launcher its grenade firing function (and larger multi-rocket capacity) like classic UT. At least this mutator is available in the Editor's Choice edition which I have (the DVD one).

its also included in Unreal Anthology, but I know its not available on the first release

Yeah, I had thought about getting the Anthology, but then I didn't care too much about Unreal II, and I already had played the other games (Unreal's multiplayer wasn't that interesting). I own the original UT (before the GOTY edition) and got the Editor's Choice DVD of UT2k4 fairly recently.

the lack of status bars in the loading screens annoys me. but then I guess since my machine is only 2 ghz and 256 mb ram I should expect long load times between maps

Yeah, mine's an Athlon 2400 XP+, which was hot stuff back when I got it. ;) my video card is "only" 128 mb too.

I configured fraps to record my voice and screen, and I turned up the volume in the background.
