  • La mejor versión que he oido de esta canción con diferencia; a este chaval le rebosaba el feeling por la voz y la guitarra. Impresionante! Una pena que falleciese tan joven...De lo mejor de su generación!

  • One man, one guitar. No gimmicks needed here to get his point across.

  • Please join Sean's FB page to see the movie trailer that will be used for funding a film of his life.

Blues Man: The Life and Times of Sean Costello

  • amazing

  • A beautiful man but his power emanates from loss or deprivation, like a pruned and rootless bonsai, from a place most of us would find terrible, dark and scary. I can't help but think pouring so much of oneself into every song as he did would lead to spiritual exhaustion. Others perform, their passion contrived for the occasion. Sean had "that within which passeth show; These but the trappings and the suits of woe."

  • Sean Costello Memorial Fund for Bipolar Research Tomorrow will be the 3rd anniversary of Sean's passing. Saturday would have been his 32nd birthday. We will be celebrating him on Saturday with a 9 AM Mass at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception and a Benefit at Northside Tavern... his home away from home. Better to celebrate the day he came into the world rather than the day he left us. All are welcome to come.

  • Everything he does is beyond great, but this is not even human. He is channeling from some other level of being.

  • one of the most soulful artists in the world , Sean Costello does not just sing and play guitar , he is simply in another dimension every time he plays the blues. we miss you , see you soon on the other side

  • Sean...man we miss you dude.

Hope your up there with Hendrix and Little Walater kicking the blues.

  • I would agree with most that this guy could have been a great player. But have to wonder how much of the emotion is from the monkey. Sad the crap took another musician with such great potential.

  • RIP Sean..Thinking of you on this second anniversary..You are very missed.

  • Do you guys know anything about his amps? Which models did he regularly use? Any mods, speakers? I mean, apart from this deville on the vid. Cheers. P

  • @verbose1981 He used mostly fender amps

He had a Vibrolux, Princeton, BF deluxe reverb

he also used a goodsell quite a bit

and a couple of small gibson tube amps

  • @lopghg in this video he appears to be using a fender hot rod blues deville

  • This is the fucking truth.

Thank you to whoever posted it.

  • i knew him real life! he was my moms friends son so how do u think i feel?

  • so sad his passin away, seems god takes them away for himself.... seen sky dogs emotional tribute on here.... the guy cant hold back his tears bless him

  • Stevie Ray had nothing on Sean Costello...why was he not a major star???This is a stunning display of blues guitar!!!

  • Blues

  • WOW!

  • don't let your kids have bullshit music sold to them. i've exposed mine to blues their whole life. show 'em the good stuff.

  • Yeah! Right on. It will get them a longer way in life than the punk bullshit their friends listen to. I had a young (19) or so drummer sit in at a jam and he knew all the blues standards, Red House etc. kick ass. I was floored. SOMEONE brought him up with the right stuff. God bless Sean his is greatly missed by the real blues fans.

  • OK so I dont spell so good. I type at the speed of light.

  • WOW!!!!!!!! I'm cryin'...........

  • One of my favorite solos of Sean... great inspiration

  • Beautiful music. You have left great inspiration behind too all of us. Thank you

  • Asi se toca blues Chinga!!! Desde el corazon!! Fuck yeah!!! this is how you have to play the blues!!!! FROM THE HEART!! We miss you so much Sean but you are in my blues... RIP

  • Happy Birthday Sean. Thank you for posting this video. It's my favorite of all.

  • Forever in Our Hearts on this first anniversary.. RIP

  • I had the rare honor to open for Sean at Cumberlands in Charleston once. I think it was shortly after his 21st birthday. Had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times. The world is missing more than just his music. He was a good man.

  • Man, this guy was one of the very best, can't blame his feeling and love for drugs.I hear his suffering all over ...

  • amazing...

  • Boy was possessed by the blues. It will get you if you listen close.

  • jesus christ

    this is insane

my dad always went on about this guy but i never listened

    fuck

    rip brother

one day its going to meet ;)

  • Ha funny! Dads want their kids to listen to the right stuff.

Some day they they go "holy shit" Ive heard that.

Head banger, rap, gangster shit is just that. This stuff will get you a long ways. Way cool you found it.

  • Sean I miss you.

  • I watch this video every day. Just amazing.

  • Sorry to hear about the loss. Wish I knew of him before, he was AWESOME!

  • Costello owns your puny punk ass. Go back to tweakin' yer pedals in the 5 minutes of fame blue jam at the local dive. You'll NEVER be this good, or have anything even remotely close to say with your guitar. Pathetic.

  • How did I not hear of him before yesterday? What a loss. Fly On Sean...

  • this Guy was true "BLUES", Shame that he is gone. Fortunate to see him twice, both in small intimate setting

  • his damn tone is amazing! Amazing player and I'm so damn sad I will never see him live.

  • god rest his soul

  • THE BEST TO COME OUT OF ATLANTA! Why go so soon? I am so sad.......!????? RIP...Love You!

  • It's both very sad and very disappointing that someone with so much talent wasted himself with a few bad decisions. Even those closest to him couldn't see this coming at such a young age.

    DZ

  • A blues artist who was unique and should have had his day. Stellar voice and amazing power and emotion. What a loss.

  • You will be missed. I am glad you have touched us with your soul. Every note we hear is a little piece you have left with us.

    Thank you.

  • I miss you so much bro!

Your still here with me though, your always performing with me no matter what.

  • Rest in Peace Brother:( Sad day for the blues.

  • May the blessings of love be upon you

May its peace abide with you

May its essence illuminate your heart

    Now and forever more . . . .

    - Sufi Blessing

  • RIP Sean.

  • do you know what happened to him? I can't figure it out.

  • So so sad....another blues slinger gone....too young too soon....RIP little brother....

  • RIP. A young talent taken so early.

  • Sorry no spam just me pressing the wrong buttons...

  • I love that number - have heard with Otis Rush, John Mayall, Clapton, Peter Green and more....but Sean is the future of blues today, God Bless Him!

  • kid got some soul.I saw him in a small bar.blew me away.he is way beyond his time

  • Ok, drink enough hater-aid did ya? We all know Otis kicks ass. And your reference to Clapton is worthless. Clapton makes for a sorry ass blues man.

  • This MF is a bad mutha .... shut yo/ mouth

  • Great blues guitar player and singer. I followed Vincent's advise and played it ten times and loved it more every time I played it. I will try to find tabs of his songs, so I can play it myself!!

  • Sean is back in Europe next week (March 2007)and I'll catch at least two of his concert, probably with my family of 6 in tow, because they all love his music since they caught him live in Antwerp two years ago. This song is a seriously good example of how Sean plays. Make sure to play it at least ten times to really catch the vibe!

  • I saw him live,he is good, hitting all the right notes and using his fingers.Like albert collins said, throw your pick away, now you got 5.

  • this kid can do the blues, this is the 1st time I seen him, will look for more stuff by him

  • graet!

  • cooooooool

  • First time posting, normally I am not moved to add comments. I have been catching Sean in concert since he was around 17...he was a prodigy then, he is a virtuoso now. He truly is the MOST fun to watch live of ANYone I have EVER seen live in a live performance. He allows himself to BE himself with that guitar and with that allows the audience in to his soul. It truly is incredible to watch him. He is there for us, yet he is there, alone, with his music. Love you Sean.

  • I don't know about Sean Costello but I love Cobra Records - the echo sounded terrific! - like the Sun Records echo. Magic Sam and Otis Rush are two of my favorites.

  • i just saw this guy perform in Cincinnati and it was one of the best shows i've ever seen.anyone who has a chance to catch his act should do so.

  • I still think this is absolutely amazing. If you haven't been lucky enough to see Sean play live, then make sure to play this video at least hlf a dozen times to get somewhere close to how good this guy is!

  • are you kidding? This guy has more feel, soul and passion than a thousand black rappers from the 'hood put together.Race has nothing to do with it.Sean Costello is a major talent.

  • Not only a gifted guitarist, soulful singer, but one hell of a nice guy!

  • u r an ass!

  • Strong...real Strong! Otis would be Proud!

  • good stuff

  • Great stuff! "Double Trouble" is one of my favourite Otis Rush songs too... In fact its one of my favourite blues songs period!

  • okay.. this was great! Playin' with soul.. that's the way to go..

  • If you ever get the chance, catch him live
