the only reason i hate Asuka is because you can string pretty much any of her moves into one long combo. shes a great character, and once you learn how to alternate between the 10 million combos she can possibly have, you win really easily, but shes very confusing to fight. kinda like Eddy/FemEddy

For those bitching about juggles, okizeme, wallsplats and the like, play Jin, Incredible middles, Does most of his damage from pokes and punishing, and the best turtler in the game, due to his move set, stance and parry, Drag and Asuka can also play defensively, Though Drag can berserk people, and Asuka has tons of nasty infinite combos, Surprisingly Paul and Marduk can also have a defensive/punishment game, Kaz aint bad for it, In essence any punishment/reversal/tackle people.

Ugh, Fighting games are just old. No matter how many flashy moves oyu use, or how good the game looks graphics-wise, it's still the same fucking thing.

For competitive gaming where people put time into learning the basics of a character or the general system, the same core stuff is a necessity.

Much like Madden, they just add little bits and pieces. If they were to overhaul the main system over and over again, people in general would have to master ANOTHER system again...instead of the few upgrades and getting right into the next installation of the franchise.

It's called building upon a foundation. Hope that explains some stuff.

@Hydro64 not true at all. Tekken maintains all of the key elements of fighting games: spacing, setting up moves, corner traps, counters, mix-ups, etc.

Learning combos is just the first step.

simple, if you sidestep a move, you have a free hit. if you backstep a move that has a lot of recovery time, then you can attack back.

Hey i noticed a very long time ago when i played this in Arcades that low parry doesn't make you bounce in the ground, but in the new tekken now that make you bounce in the ground, at 0:42 dragunov stops asuka's attack with a parry then he follows up with a combo, so my quiestion is, the bouncing has the same effect? I mean bouncing could be a better chance of juggling? or it's the same old low parry but it just looks like bouncing?

I got the feeling that the Dragnov player wasn't playing at his/her "full" potential on purpose in order to analyze if the Asuka player's has any patterns. At the start of the 3rd round, you can see that the Dragnov player had predicted all of the opening attacks that the Asuka player likes to do and successfully countered them, thus leading to his/her victory.

to be honest, 3D fighting games don't appeal to me as much as 2D ones, but this one looks worth trying out!
