I concur, Mmm pizza :) Seems like you had fun haha.. And it's funny how once you start to learn Japanese you see it around a lot more :D Or maybe try to look for it more would be a better way of putting it ;P Thanks for sharing Jess! :D
My mistake. They actually had コレクション, not コレクショん on the box. Sorry about the mistake there :-). Also, sorry about the questions, Jess. I know you're not a Japanese language expert, but you're much farther along in your language training than I am, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. Thanks!
The Japanese titles on the items were interesting. I don't understand, however, why they spell out the English words in katakana when there are actual Japanese words for those things. For example, on the Star Trek box they have スタートレクフリートコレクショん above the English. But why use katakana for the word "Collection" when the word しゅうしゅう or むれ exists? I thought katakana was solely used for loan words, not as replacement for existing Japanese words.
Gamera is the name of a giant moth monster that was popular in 80's Japanese cinema. It's like the Gojira vs Gamera type of thing. She doesn't know what she's talking about.
Thanks! You were kind of being mean but your right i did not know what i was talking about. I read it wrong. And i am not a Godzilla expert. I just read it quickly.
That looked like an interesting fair. It seems most Japanese style fairs or festivals happen miles away from me. The last one I went to was in Richmond, London which was fun but seemed to concentrate mostly on anime and manga but it was still enjoyable and I will go again, if they have another one.
It actually wasn't a Japanese fair, but it did give me a chance to look through all the stores in town and i tend to have the ability to turn everything into something Japanese related! :D
