The problem is WE arent raising them at all...the video games are...and the other kids in the area.....and the government through the school system....Parents need to bring back the belt, and society needs to bring back shame for raising dirtbag kids. Everyone is a victim now...so no one is responsible for their failures.
i think alot of parents are not being stricked enough but they have to be careful not to seem to mean when punnishing their kids and teens or their teens can call the police and say they are beating them so i can understand why it is hard
When I hear kids on xbox live while im playing games like Gears of War or Resident Evil 5 im so confused. Man when I was a kid I was playing Super Mario Brothers, Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo Kazooie, James Bond, and Sonic.
I don't think you can simply blame games for this. People forget, there are kids who are mentally instable who are easily influenced by violent movies and games. Psychopaths and psychotics. Normal people don't set people on fire. There are however people who don't feel empathy or remorse. These are the people that commit the most gruesome crimes. We read about them everyday.
Kids are not playing anymore.. I am 20 years old and I have seen such a huge change from when I was a kid to the kids now days, and it is mostly the parents fault they are more worried about doing what they want they are not careing or paying attention to what their kids are watching or playing..and they are not seeing reality. Parents need to open their eyes..
sumtruth have you heard about the Walter Currie story in Missouri? He(who's african american) was set on fire by a caucasian boy, who supposedly, is his classmate. I want you to read the story. What's your opinion on the whole situation?
ok for the people who are bitching, he wasn't talking about how the videogames teach kids to do stuff its HOW THE FUCKING PARENTS ARE RAISING THEM!!!!!! cause for one i have never seen a game where you cover someone in rubbing alcohol and light them on fire? have you??? would be funny but NO he is saying is that everyone in this fucked up world needs something to fucking blame for their own mishaps. if those kids parents made sure they told their kids "fire is bad dont play with it" like most do
I don't know if it's just me but I don't think he is really saying that video games were the root of the problem. I think he was saying that as parents, care takers, and peers we allow kids to not only think of acts like this but commit them. I believe that some kids can possibly be harmed by some of the MATURE games that are out now BUT it the parents and guardians job to not only to know if the kid has those types of game but if they are able to handle them.
those little fucked up kids need to seriously learn to deal with their issues. and where did they get enough rubbing alchohol to thouroughly cover the kid?
weird sumtruth, i never thought id find a day that i disagreed with you on something. i dont believe video games are the cause of these incidents. yes i am a former fan of video games, but i just dont have the time to enjoy them anymore. but i played much growing up, and i know whats in them. and i beleive that its not the games fault, but the parents faulth for not instilling common sense onto the child. i knew perfectly well the difference between MK in the 90's and what real pain was.
Very powerful video. I think the downfall of children in America was the destruction of the family unite in the US. What will children do if there is no one around to guide them? become bored? test the rules? light other children on fire?
I will not have any children be brought up into this world... sad but true.. this society is hell all the way hell pure evil ........ no respect or appreciation for anything.... dammmmmm that is disturbing..
ilikenirvana1.... you are right... sometimes I forget on how to make of this world... I do hope this little boy makes it through i'm sure we all do he is in my prayers... god bless him and his family.. this really took a toll on me..... :(
This is an amazing video by you! ... its so short and unexpected and it teaches the main message so well... I too think that we should be more in tune with reality and the love of a human
its just sad what kids do, and the parents aren't gonna take any responsibility which is how they got screwed up in the first place. Hopefully Michael can make a quick recovery and send those kids to jail. I heard those kids laughed when they talked about setting Michael on fire, well lets see how funny prison is.
Ninjas would not have worn garments that would, you know, get in the way of them being able to move around so flexibly. And from what I read in your comment, am I to understand that even as you hear about a child being lit on fire, which is utterly disturbing in itself without having to be the parent of the child, you still laugh at the fact that the person giving this information is wearing a mask. Let me ask you something, have you ever heard of the guitarist Buckethead?
Stage fright. Without that mask, Buckethead is frozen with fear, and he wouldn't be able to preform to large crowds. It's an unfortunate fear to have but it does happen. Maybe sumtruth has stage fright, maybe it's something else. I wouldn't be surprised if it was stage fright. Some great comdeians and preformers have stage fright, so they deal with it in other ways, I remember one comedian to just leaned against anything he could find the whole act.
I myself am not that good with very large crowds. I wouldn't be surprised if Sumtruth did have stage fright. But if not, just listen to his advice and try and take something from it. He has his reasons for wearing the mask, and I urge you not to call him on it, it's not really your business as to why he wears it. He seems quite wise, and he can help a lot of people. So he wears a mask, I don't pay attention to it, and apparently neither do most people who watch his videos. So why should you?
Well, you would be one of the few people who think so. And since you can laugh at his mask while hearing that a child was lit on fire, I fuifind that deeply disturbing. Maybe you should go see a psychiatrist, because that's not right.
Din't read the rest of my comment did you? You need to see a psychiatrist because you can still laugh at that mask while hearing about a child who was doused in alchohol and then set aflames. Doesn't the fact that you can do that sound even slightly wrong to you?
...You have a deeply disturbing way of thinking. How can you simply brush off the fact that you laughed at a video of a young boy being set aflame because the one telling you this is wearing a mask. I don't need to think that's wrong, I know that's wrong, and many psychologists would agree with me. I don 't even want to know what else you're capable of finding humour in. Please think over the comments you've posted. If you can't figure out what sounds wrong, you're probably a sick person.
Reading is an important skill, you should learn to do it better. I repeated myself on this twice. It's not the fact that you laughed at the mask, it's the fact that you laughed at it in full knowledge of the context of this video. Do you understand yet?
Either you're literally the most ignorant, uneducated person I have ever met, or you're trying to provoke anger in me. If it's the latter option, then well done. However, I am hard to anger. I find that if I become angry, my ability to argue with logic begins to slip. And so while you have annoyed me somewhat, getting me angry will take much more than simply acting like a fool.
Now, assuming that you really did just ask me if I understood if his mask was funny, then let me try and answer that as clearly as I can, so you'll understand. While his mask may be humorous to you, they video is not. I myself do not notice the masks potential to be funny or anything otherwise. However, I cannot really find that interesting when I hear in the same video that a boy was doused in alcohol and set on fire. If the mask is your center of attention here, that's wrong. understand now?
first i want to say that the fact a videogame was in the story it has noyhing to do with why he chose set the kid aflame. i the sentance changed to , he owed the kid 40$ for a book, would the focus be on v-games, second those kids had something wrong with them if there willing to do such an act for 40$, the damage done to this child is payment payed unjust. i feel bad for this kid, and hope that those who hurt him realize what they did and hold it heavy on there hearts till the day they die
Well the thing is you cant say all teenagers which play video games are like that for example:Me and some of my best friends play video games since about 6 years (most of us were 10),not only games suitable for our age group (stuff like CSS) and none of us ever had aggressive or abnormal tendencies .We are rather normal, so make your own mind about that topic,i think that those people killing people because of Video Games had psychologic problems before and the games was more like a trigger.
i have to agree as a teen that thats true. but man, even the next generation is quite screwed, there's 8 year olds using quite obscene language i never even heard of :S
