If you're talking about the black plastic fittings for use outside the house (Rainwater drainage and waste standpipe) then don't bother. I tried it to make a much bigger gun but the plastic is brittle and couldn't take the pressure (resulting in a small explosion followed by my leg on fire!).

If it's indoor 32mm or 40mm then it's probably the same stuff I used so possibly worth a try (with caution!).

u couldalso be thinking of ABS piping. i use it in my cannon, and it is actually safer than PVC. If pvc fails, thenit will produce lots of plastic shrapnel causing damage to urself or others because it is so brittle. But ABS is more flexible so wen it fails, it wont produce any shrapnel, or at least a lot less than pvc does. i saw a picture of one that didfail made out of ABS and it onlyhad a crack going down the side of it. No shrapnel. I hav had mine for 2 years and havhad no problems so far.

The sparker was taken out of a cheap disposable cigarette lighter (the clicky ones - not a flint one).

We tried loads and there are a lot of different designs, some are easier than others tro harness the spark.

Alternatively go to a cook shop and look for a battery powered sparker (used on gass cookers that don't have internal ignitors).

I also found a very powerfull sparker on a Gas BBQ spare parts website.

Ok an update on my own gun I replaced the Lighter ignition with a disposable camera ignition system & ohhhh my word what a difference!It's like night & day. You have to do some electrical work but for the sake of that it's worth it. Very few ignition failures now even when you get the mixture wrong.Will not say on here how to make the igntion but just do a search for Camera ignition's & you should get the idea.

The correct mix of propellant and air (oxygen) is required to make an explosive combination.

If you spray in as much as I do in the video there is no oxygen left in the chanmer to allow it to ignite. "letting some air in" resulted in a small amount of propellant remaining in the chanber - just enough.

Later on we found we could squirt a very tiny amount in and this would work ok without the need to let additiona air in.

It takes some trial and error - but defiantely, less is more!

also, it would be easier, if you sealed the back end, pop your spud in the top of the barrel, then spray your propellant into the CC, close it, then push the tater in, that will give it a barrel full of fresh air, the tater seals off the system on insertion, then you compress fresh air by plunging the spud.

Quite right. The video is from the early days. We experimented with pushing the spud further down the barrel once sealed and propellant added - this definately adds a bit but not much to the gun's power. The more important factor was getting the mix right. In later models I let lots of frsh air in and then use the tiniest of squirts of propellant - if you get it right the results are even more impressive than the video!

drain pipes are not "pressure rated", best to use supply pipes, in the USA, they have pressure ratings on them. so far i have used hair spray, wonderfully powerful, makes a rifle crack report, but the chamber needs mopping up after 5-6 shots, anti-static spray for clothing is more dependable, but less powerful, in the next week or two i will play with propane, my gun has interchangable barrels, i put a fitting on the end of my combustion chamber, can make any barrel i like with a few adapters.

the caps are the things that are under your sink. They let the water through but anything that falls down the plug hole gets trapped there. you can pick them up from a diy store for about £5 or $7
