You know, it really doesn't do any good to try and debate biology on Pokemon. Pokemon breaks nearly every rule. Besides, if we were going to apply biology on Pokemon, there would technically be only ONE species of Pokemon since every Pokemon can mate with any other Pokemon.

Hyenas are far from Canines since the Canis Lupus (DOG) species breaks off at family Canidae while the Hyena is in the family Hyaenidae. But even more important than that, the Hyena is in the suborder Feliformia which means they are CAT-like.
