  • Jon's brother Larry Leibowitz is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the New York Stock Exchange.

  • @westwind85 Why did you post this so much? That stuff is on Wikipedia... *genuinely confused*

  • "watch crossfire" We can't. You ended that show Jon. -sigh-

  • @ecody1 He didn't end it, he just said what needed to be said ;)

  • A bit ironic in where that John suggests that news networks adopt a narrative of 'no BS' that his own show narrative of 'presenting the truth in a funny way' has in effect turned his show into a reliable news source; simply because his show actually deals with the truth instead of asking open ended questions to 'let the audience decide' what the truth is for them. The news should be the ones putting the pieces together and presenting it, not giving it's audience a puzzle to solve.

  • when he is serious, hes a powerful smart speaker

when hes joking, hes still a powerful smart commentator

    brilliant jon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He should have answered the question about where he gets his news from, would have been interesting.

  • @prettythings89 watch manufacturing consent here on youtube. What jon stewart is talking about is explained in detail and the reasons for why media is the way it is . And that your information must come from first hand journalists from all over the world

  • i think he gets it from all the places and then digest it into truth in his free and brilliant mind

  • it's kind of unfortunate that this aired on CSPAN where it almost nobody saw it, very poignant.

Well at least its on youtube now.

  • :D yea. everybody has seen it now :D

  • @DChaplow They could have at least advertised it a little more on the Daily Show!! I remember when I watched it on TV.....I was flipping through channels and I by chance landed on it! I only caught the last 15 minutes of it, which sucked for me because this was great throughout the hour!!

  • As a liberal, watching this has really validated Jon Stewart. Leaving ideologies aside, I can't deny that when you hear Bill O'Reilly, he can be convincing. I hardly ever agree with him, but he's a lot smarter that other people on FOX. His interviews are skewed, but I give him credit as a social commentator. Good to see more reasonable liberals. :D

  • Dan Rather got old! :D

His journalism couldn't keep up with the lower standard.

  • I think he would judge the question of activist networks beside FOX diffrently today in respect of MSNBC.

  • Well I think MSNBC would fall more into the category of sensationalist / lazy. I mean, if they're activists, what is there cause.

  • I dont think Keith Olbermann qualifies as lazy (sensationalist maybe, but thats not necessarily a contradiction to activism), he seems to get pretty exhausted from his "special comment" outrages physically. MSNBC has moderators that r completely in the tank for Obama and its indeed so bad even the daily show (which is also considered as a lil bit liberal) makes fun of it. MSNBC is FOX from the left.

  • And he has been extremely vocal about that recently. did you SEE the interview with him and the anchor from MSNBC...he let her have it!

  • John is great. He makes me feel better and more sane about my view on politics, television, and the world in general. I did think he was a little too soft on O'Reilly, tho. His ego isn't the only reason why he's a horrible choice for someone to report the news.

  • hot stone massage...with uhh release

  • He sort of just stood up for Fox and Bill O'reilly in a way.. (not any worse than anyone else) ('oreilly is reasoned'). That's why conserv. republicans like me (slightly cons. NOT a neo-con retard)respect and love Jon Stewart. He's honest and has GOOD solid opinions. If he were a politician he'd be up there with Ron Paul for me despite differences. People who care and WANT good things for our home

  • @Clyaton - good to see someone on the other side with the right approach to these things

  • @Clyaton

    Could not agree more.

  • more people need to listen to this guy when he is actually serious

  • @ciftode he's always serious

  • We love you Jon

  • Sagittarius! OMFG lolololol

dear god Jon listen to our cries run and we will vote!!!!

  • I like Jon, he`s very funny! but i can`t believe he says about O`reily that he`s reasonable.. since when? in what paralel dimension?

  • He didn't say O'Reilly is reasonable. He said he is one of the more reasonable Fox commentators. Large difference.

  • he said his comments are realatively reasoned, but wrapped in a big ball of ego.wich is a nice way to say "Bill, you egomaniac fucktard!" :)

  • you yanks should have HIM as your president

  • If Stewart ran for president i would emigrate to the states and gain citizenship to vote for him

  • Jon Stewart is the greatest person to have ever existed (that I know of) If he better fucking run for president.

  • you yanks should have HIM as your president

  • you yanks should have HIM as your president

  • Well I like Jon but I'm now terrified of the other surprises Fox has in store, that Jon mentions, because I find O'Reilly exetremely disgusting.

  • "Like me!"

  • Jon Stewart! So open about how he feels and able to express himself. Yay! I've missed this lately.

  • dag, did those f-bombs go out over the air when this was on c-span?

  • Yup, C-SPAN is a good channel believe it or not.

  • yeah, c-span is actually so good that i wish stewart had been conscientious enough to refrain from doing that. it puts c-span at risk of being fined by the FCC and as you say, it's one of the best channels we have.

  • C-SPAN is not under FCC regulatory influence, because it is not a broadcast/terrestrial station. Currently, the FCC is only able to regulate, license and fine broadcast or terrestrial stations. C-SPAN is a cable station.

The FCC has discussed the possibility of gaining authority over cable and satellite content, but for now, that does not seem likely to happen.

So rest assured. Jon can say 'fuck' all he wants on C-SPAN and not have to worry about getting them fined.

  • fuck ya go Jon

  • BBC World Service

You will learn something the instant you turn this on.

CBC is still lethargic, though credible.

  • bbc and cnn are washington propaganda puppies, Jon Stewart for president

  • Different countries but the same people pull the strings.

  • here,here

  • I can't believe he just did a beat box

    actually, it was kinda good

  • COLBERT 2008
