she talks about how some functions aren't available in hong kong. so the convention is probably in hong kong and for the chinese market. even if it's a japanese phone convention, they would probably want sales-people who speak the same language as the market they're appealing to. thus she is speaking cantonese

Uhhh It will not be available in North America. You can buy it retail at Asian malls in North America (like Markham's Pacific Mall) but you will not ever (likely) be able to get it on an American contract. You'll have to use pay as you go/pay & talk I think.

WAY better looking. The good thing is a lot of Asian style is crossing over to American cellphone carriers.

Perfect example is Samsung A720 carried by Telus.
