When I got this phone I fell in love with it, I never ever went to an internet cafe or library to use internet ever again. Anytime I want internet I just bring out my G1 handset. Its good for surfing but one thing its lacking is Flash player and an updated internet. But I still love it. xxxxxxxx thanks Google!

I build Android phones. My instructor presents them in a classy way. At least your presentation ISN'T destroying the quality of this phone and you have much more clarity in your presentation then these other hacked-up jerks. None of my phones in FACTORY MODE work like this. YOU must be in Customer Mode with the proper settings. Keep it up! Don't get carried-away. It all changes. I sold PCs (89-90) It takes time 2 build noteworthy history - nothing great ever happens overnight.

ive had 8900 and magic and getting dream soon.

8900 is a fantastic phone built to last-very very strong like all blackberries. it has everything that you can ask for but not nearly as much at htc dream or magic. 8900 is a serious business phone whereas htc g1 comes off more as a teenagers toy with lots to do. Also 8900 cant be customized nearly as much as htc. Judging by ur screenname "yungmoney"-- id say go for htc dream or magic.

I have this phone and the keyboard's fine. I'm a bit of a Billy big-hands so don't have any problem with the bit on the side. Pushing the keyboard out has a natural feel to it.

The only thing I don't like is having to charge it up every day, but it has loads of stuff going on in it and it's just one of those things. You can get a bigger battery but it only lasts 2 days and makes the phone look like a hunchback so I didn't get one of those. I just charge it up overnight.

At the 3:10 mark, the demo of Google Maps Streetview Compass mode was qute clear.

It seemed to 'hang' a bit...download perhaps.

Bus Stop Schedule data could be downloaded and co-ordinated with the 'point and view' simulation of Compass View.

GPS could be the location input and Latitude/Longitude of the bus stop could be inputs towards calculations of NEAREST bus stops (a 2nd mode).

With each Bus Stop a known Latitude/Longitdue, keying in Bus Stop Number could be cheap-GPS-substitute.

Well basically, this phone was initially created for two main reasons:

1. To test out the Google Android OS and

2. To make a more developer based iPhone like phone.

So if your looking for a phone with limitless potential: Get this phone.

But if you want a phone which has an 'eye popping' effect in terms of both software and looks, get the iPhone which is kinda limited.

I like both phones, but G1 has a keyboard so you dont have to suffer when it comes to speed texting!!!!

Surprisingly cheap. It's a dream phone at an unbelievable price. Just released in Canada on Rogers for $149 with a $45 a month contract. Other wise it does cost $600 apparently on it's own. This video isn't even doing this phone justice on showing it's abilities.
