Neuberger fails basic logic with flying colors. She commits the doubly fallacious tactic of mistaking correlation with cause, and confusing the specific with the general. There are millions, if not billions, of people who do good in the name of their religion, but it does not follow at all that such people would not do so absent religion.

People don't get basic ethics from religion...rather, they funnel what they already have into their lives, and their lives may include religious activity.
