@DjHeavySet65 Believe me I can tell if the FF has "play" or not; it's not the first FF I've used. If you can't figure out what I'm doing maybe you need to switch to 720p? Anyway, see 4:50 where I'm holding the gear and moving knob, the play is pretty obvious. It's still an amazing FF, just my copy is disappointing in terms of play. I know what it's modeled on and I'm all about saving the money on gear, so that is why I highly recommended even if it has this amount of play.
@alanbesedin I saw, I just wanted to double check. I don't doubt you're experience with FFs at all and I agree for the price it is an amazing FF. I've used ARRI's, Cinevates etc. and they are equally amazing, but the price is equally astounding. Keep up the great reviews though! I just ordered a new Gini with the new iFocus. When I get it I'll post a video and see if the there is any difference in the play.
I'm not sure if your copy actually has any "play." Try holding the gear and moving the focus ring instead. Doing this should show almost no "play" at all. I'm trying to discern if your hand is actually moving ever so slightly as you adjust the gear as well. The response looks amazing especially considering this is modeled after the $1,600 Cinevate Durus Follow Focus. I'd gladly sacrifice a negligible play if I can save $1400.
Great review, I haven't got a FF yet, I am currently debating over getting one, I know its useful for focusing objects that are moving, but for what I do, it seams like a lazy option for focusing on a static object. Maybe when they become cheaper, and are sold for what they are actually worth material wise, I will definitely purchase one
@feha1000 Glad to hear your one doesn't have any play. My one is the same as yours, The 'i Focus". Looking forward to your video.

@RedSpectrumPictures Don't get it if you don't feel that you need one yet, spend your money on something that you feel will benefit your film-making.
