  • I just love how pissed off this song sounds. Definatley should have been on One by One

  • chris shiflett didn't change anything

  • replay. replay. replay.

  • "The Missing Pieces" or "One by One" ?

  • Way underrated song, it deserves a lot more listeners!

  • 3:21 matt bellamy of muse! (old muse)

  • Jizz... everywhere at this song.

  • damn it im gonna melt until august cant wait to see them in rock en seine hehe im gonna kidnap them for sure lol

  • well your all idiots

  • Who gives a shit what it's about? it's an awesome song and that's what matters

  • And not one dislike. Damn straight. It's an amazing song!! Cant wait to see them on the 2nd of July!!!!

  • thats a fucking epic set list at 0:22!!

  • This is probably my favorite Foo Fighter B-Sides. Frankly, I think this should have made the cut for One By One.

  • @pixelatedsoul It's not a b-side...it's a bonus track. B-sides comes from singles.

  • Novoselic instead formed the band Sweet 75 in 1995, releasing a single self-titled album in 1997. Even though he turned Foo Fighters down, in 2002 he performed uncredited background vocals on one song during the One by One album sessions. The track is "Walking a Line", released on the One by One bonus DVD and as an iTunes bonus track to the album, in a tribute to Cobain. He made a guest appearance on the Foo Fighters album Wasting Light, being reunited with Grohl and producer Butch Vig.

  • whenever i see a video with 0 dislikes i allways press dislike but i cant do this in this video...

  • @MeteoJudgment which song is about kurt?

  • everyone shut the fuck up, no one knows jackshit about what the songs mean except dave. just listen and keep your thoughts away from the keyboard

  • 200th Like is mine! Yeah! And no dislikes!

  • DEAR ALL ROCK AND NIRVANA FANS, FEBRUARY 20TH IS KURT COBAIN'S BIRTHDAY. THAT DAY WE WILL ALL VISIT THE "SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT" VIDEO, LIKE IT, AND WISH HIM A HAPPY BIRTHDAY. NOT ONLY WILL IT PAY BACK RESPECT TO HIM, IT WILL ALSO HELP NIRVANA GET TO THE TOP OF YOUTUBE AGAIN. THUMBS UP THIS COMMENT AND REPOST THIS ON ANY NIRVANA OR ANY ROCK VIDEO.

  • i think krist novolesic should have joined the foo fighters. he turned them down, because he said every one was gonna think of the foos as the incarnation of nirvana.. isnt that what people still think now? that would of been epic though. but i still love the foos and nirvana...

  • @arturocruz09

Isn't he playing Krist bass on their next album, or at least 1 song. I thought I read something like that somewhere.

  • buen video

  • one of my favourite ff's songs

  • @californiiagirl agree! :)

  • First off this a really good song and second of all who gives a shit if is a tribute to Cobain or not? I LOVE Nirvana but this is just some b-side the band didnt deam worthy to put out on a normal album. Grohl took from Cobain sure but he was always his own person/musician.

  • I wish the footage (with its original sound) from this was available in some sort of short film or something. We're missing out on so much Foo-based hilarity here, you can tell!

  • ya know i own every single one of their albums and it still amazes me how many good songs i never heard

  • ROCK 'N' GROHL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Heh, that's me jumping around like a gobshite at 2:56. Good times.

    I feel old now.

  • This has been one of my favorate Foo Fighters song ever since I first heard it. Though I will admit it gave me a speeding ticket. During a hot summers day with this song in your car playing really loudly thats life.

  • I like it so much! Simply fantastic.

  • No offense, but Dave has more talent in his big toe, than Cobain had in his whole body !!!!

  • @nga1947

That's kind of true, but I wouldn't say a big toe. Maybe an upper body

  • Did the Foo Fighters write this?

  • you never see chris smile nearly as much as the other guys. Dave has the most awesome smile

  • Dave's Plexiglas guitar FTW!

  • this song was a tribute to kurt cobain.. he was awesome.. and so is this song.

  • O,O this song if freaking awesome one of the best Foos

  • I had this on the double cd w/ dvd one by one when it came out. I wore out this song on the dvd. it's still one of favorate Foo Fighters track.

  • Could easily be my new favourite Foo's song! ;O

  • the really quiet part, the bridgey bit.. is Krist :)

  • shoulda been more than a bside

  • @Chubachus indeed freaking awesome song

  • I love this song, best!

  • i prefer nirvana (less commercial) but foo fighters rock.

    and dave is great

  • This song was wrote about the time that Dave Grohl had decided to settle down with his (then) girlfriend Jordyn Blum. It is more likely to be about that part of his life than the singer of a band he was in once!!!

  • this song is the best but i cant find it on itunes so i have to watch it when i get home not when im at school or on the bus and stuff so HOW CAN I FIND IT ON ITUNES!?!?!??!?! wtf haha

  • @MyFoofighters: Indeed.

  • @MyFoofighters Also, this track is on iTunes incase you were still looking for it

  • It's on Spotify - although you'd have to be in a country that has it

  • RIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!! Love it. Great video!

  • wow this is amazing!

  • I love Taylor's ballerina moves at 3:28 :D

  • I heard this was a tribute to Kurt Cobain, is that true?

  • according to wikipedia, it is

  • @MrGrungerocker94 No, it's a FF song. It's not about fucking Cobain. I don't know why everyone thinks every fucking FF song is about Cobain. Dave has a life of his own, and it doesn't revolve around a dead friend.

  • Dave is & Always Will Be Our Cool Brother

    Amen

    Bro in the Sky

  • @hhhseanhbk ..it is a tribute to cobain and Novoselic is on back up vocals too..but grohl def has his own shit goin for him

  • @carmensX It has nothing to do with Cobain. He's dead, get over it, the last thing Dave would make a song about is Cobain. There is only 1 FF song that has anything to do with Cobain and it's called Friend of a Friend, and was written while he was in Nirvana.

  • @hhhseanhbk I know. It's so annoying

  • @hhhseanhbk

Actually, Novoselic recorded in 2002 with Foo, as a tribute to Cobain. So it is in fact a tribute song.

He did uncredited vocals on the song.

    You fail, sir.

Though I agree that every song doesn't revolve around Cobain.

  • @cavegoat13 Proof or it didn't happen.

  • @hhhseanhbk

This is directly from Novoselic's wiki.

"Even though he turned Foo Fighters down, in 2002 he performed uncredited background vocals on one song during the One by One album sessions. The track is Walking a Line, released on the One by One bonus DVD and as an iTunes bonus track to the album, in a tribute to Cobain."

  • @cavegoat13 Wikipedia isn't a reliable source.

  • @hhhseanhbk lmao im sure wikipedia is a more reliable source then you sir.

  • @hhhseanhbk Well I saw it (and don't give a shit if you think everything on there is a lie) on Wikipedia saying Krist "in 2002 he performed uncredited background vocals on one song during the One by One album sessions. The track is "Walking a Line", released on the One by One bonus DVD and as an iTunes bonus track to the album, in a tribute to Cobain." So, uhm, shove it up your ass. I'm positive Dave has his own life and not every song is about Cobain, but this one happens to be :P

  • @xXTobiUchihaXx Just because it was played in tribute doesn't mean the song is about Cobain. If Krist and Dave played Marigold as a tribute to Cobain it doesn't mean the song is about him.

  • @hhhseanhbk Well think about this... if it wasn't for Kurt, Dave wouldn't have made it this far. When Grohl was in Scream he was going nowhere.

  • @hhhseanhbk this song is actually dedicated to cobain. learn your facts.

  • @hhhseanhbk nobody said his life revolved around him, but this song WAS a tribute to Cobain, why do you think Novalisk recorded the backup vocals for the song? They got together to do one song for their friend.

  • @hhhseanhbk are you a fucking retard, this was a tribute for kurt thats why krist helped with the song. get your facts right ass wipe

  • @hhhseanhbk

Actually this song IS about Kurt Cobain. Chris Novoselic does background vocals. Check your facts before you pretend to know everything.

  • @hotpiercedguy2 Song isn't about Cobain. Chris did backups on this as a tribute to Cobain (the collaboration).

  • @hhhseanhbk

Point taken. I love FF far more then Nirvana, but your wrong. This song isnt necessarilly about Cobain, rather it's a tribute to him. Krist Novoselic sings background vocals.

  • @hhhseanhbk Well said. Die hard Nirvana fan but sick of the fact that most people just can't accept that Grohl is a talent in his own right. He may have taken a few tips from Cobain (much like Harrison did with Lennon/McCartney) but he has his own style that is so different from Cobain's.

  • @hhhseanhbk word forward is the song about cobain

  • @snwman91 No, Word Forward is about Dave's best friend who he knew practically his whole life and he died recently. Only 1 song is about Kurt and that's "Friend of a Friend". "Walking a line" is a tribute to Cobain...doesn't mean it's about him.

  • @slashnez dave said word forward was about cobain in an interview on fuse tv

  • @snwman91 The song is about his best friend Jimmy. His name is even on the song. And to prove this, go here .vh1.com/video/play.jhtml?id=1626582&vid=457682

  • @hhhseanhbk Yes, it is annoying when people think that, but no need to jump down MrGrungerocker94's throat about it! I think this song actually is a tribute to Cobain, hence why Krist Novoselic has some backing vocals on it (at least that's what wikipedia says XD).

  • @hhhseanhbk This song was RELEASED as a TRIBUTE to Cobain, it is not about him.

  • Comment removed

  • @hhhseanhbk i agree that most foo fighters songs are NOT about cobain, but this one is in tribute to him. also krist novoselic sung the backing vocals

  • @hhhseanhbk I don't get why everyone's still freaking out... Nirvana had a FEW good songs. And 10 years later people are still in shock Cobain died? What ruhtards.

  • @hhhseanhbk

    probably from wiki...

people would think of Foo Fighters as a new incarnation of Nirvana. Novoselic instead formed the band Sweet 75 in 1995, releasing a single self-titled album in 1997. Even though he turned Foo Fighters down, in 2002 he performed uncredited background vocals on one song during the One by One album sessions. The track is "Walking a Line", released on the One by One bonus DVD and as an iTunes bonus track to the album, in a tribute to Cobain

  • wasn't this song and tribute to cobain?..and krist did some bakground vocals but was uncredited?

  • @hhhseanhbk Actually it's a tribute to Kurt. Krist Novoselic did backing vocals on this track, uncredited of course.

  • @hhhseanhbk Yeah it is about Cobaun. Kirst Novoselic did back up vocals because of it

  • is this song on itunes? if so what do i type in to get the song?

  • Best band in the world

  • This song is awesooooooooome

  • god i love this song...

    foo fighters forever.

  • i love it

  • ha ha muse at 3:22

  • nooo more like foo fighters at 3:22

  • Imagine it would have been on their magnum opus One By One, I would have rated that cd from 10/10 to 11/10, awesome song

  • cool punkish song

  • krist novoselic sing backing vocals in this track

  • great song! i love it so much

  • Really, they did? I didn't know that... Thanx for sharing :)

  • fucking awesome

  • What a bloody awesome.. song it really fits Dave's screaming vocals.. I'd love to see it on the setlist when they comeback to the UK! lol

Maybe they should re- release it due too the fact, Dave as been belting out Wattershed at shows recently.

  • what the fuck i cant find this song anywhere

  • It's on the One By One Bounus CD

  • one by one bonus dvd mate

  • this song is really good.. wondering why it never went on one by one! :) it would of been perfect after... LOW :)

  • How is a song like this a B side? Its insanely catchy. This could have knocked out like 8 songs from One by One in my opinion. The second half of that disc is a little week til Come Back.

  • true

  • brilliant, amazing, one more to join the list of the Foo Fighters´ perfect song

  • Nice, ive been looking for this song for ages!

I agree with Jmax1113, All these B-sides could easiely been another album and would have gone crazy.

Well done foos another great song! Cant wait for the next album!

  • they should bring out a b-sides album soon, i'd buy it!

  • me too!!

  • Someone should start a petition! LOL

  • i know i wonder if they have thought about it, and they should defenitely release a b-sides cd so there is something to listen to while they take a break

  • I like all the foo fighter albums' but i think one of my favourite one's must be there newest it has some real good rock songs like pretender and some really really awsome songs in my opinion like let it die, come alive and but honestly

  • It still boggles my mind that One By One is Dave's least favorite Foo Fighters album. It's an absolute work of art. Every single song on this CD - as well as the B-sides - blows my mind.

  • i wanna be a foo fighter!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome song. wouldn't sound out of place on colour and the shape. More drop tuned foo stuff please dave!

  • Right on!!! Another great B-Side song. Hell they could easily make a new album with about 12-15 of these songs. Normal is still my favorite but this and A320 is right up there with it! FOO FOREVER!!!

  • This baby should've made it on the cd as a freaking single! This is one of my faves! And Foo's have so many great songs that they can afford to put a masterpiece like this on a b-side, they are that damn good! Keep on fighting the Foo, guys! :D

  • Brilliant song!!

  • Alot of that Video is shot in the Ambassador in Dublin :D

  • who here wants to be in the foos?

  • down in the park, banging, iron and stone..how i miss you...winnebago...fuckin ayyy...dave...just release a double cd of b-sides!!!...more fight is less foo...rock and grohl!!!!!

  • Krist Novoselic did backing vocals I don't think he played bass though!

  • briliant, once again! nothing else, just briliant!

  • Krist the Nirvana bassist played bass on this! :o

  • I love this song- it's awesome

  • This wouldve made a great single

  • I love Dave...even though he has an ego problem ((just kidding)) !

  • Is there anywhere to get this song? I have the DVD but I don't think I can rip this onto my comp. It's such a good song.
