@theBCRichWarbeast Alright, im using a spider 4 in my videos. To get a good tone just either use the 'insane' channel and set mids at 5... drive at 7, bass at 7, treble at 7. Thats an easy tone to get. Also, what I do is use a Boss Metalzone pedal. I just go to the clean channel, but everything at 5 on the amp. On the pedal put the mids at 4 the mid freq and the middle. Put the level at about 5 or 5.5 put the low at 7 and the high at 5. Also dont use too much distortion, like 5 or 7.

although ive got a question on turning it on. so the switches are both facing up, and if i have this right, then first you turn the power switch on by flicking it down. ( so now power switch is facing down and standy is facing up). then u wait a minute or so to warm up. Then flick the standby switch down, and your good to go?

the only pedal I have on at all times that effects the tone is an overdrive (NOT to be confused with distortion) pedal, but I have the drive all the way down on it. And It's a tube amp, so it sounds better the louder you turn it up.

hey, I'm getting this head in a few days and I'm gonna buy a overdrive pedal for it. What kind do yo use? I'm thinking of going with either a tube screamer or the zakk wylde mxr.

The Ibanez TS-9 is what I use. I think it sounds better than the Maxon OD-9, which in theory is the same pedal (I can hear the sound difference though, I've compared through my equipment).

I've never really played through the Zakk Wylde MXR to be honest, but I imagine it has a similar sound. Most basic 3 knob overdrive pedals don't sound very diverse tone-wise.

All I can say is try your choices through the head (not through the FX loop) and decide what you like best.
