You know, from all the lore based from all the heroes and villians from every final fantasy game here, in Dissidia itself, they all seem quite downplayed from how I remember them.

I think the reason is because if they brought to surface the real ambitions and character that made them good in there own games, it would overshadow each other and lead to soe confusion in who the major players were.

Well, Garland is quite right. No matter how many times the heroes defeat the villians, they will never stop fighting, as long as Final Fantasy Players exist!! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!

The developers revealed they didn't include Seymour because Yuna would then have to be the Final Fantasy X hero representative for Dissidia. Tidus and Seymour apparently don't antagonize each other as much as Jecht does with Tidus. Though they still should have put him in as a secret character because his Anima summon would be sweet. Genesis and Kain should have also been in the game.

Nomura wanted Kain to be in it, but since he was more or less voted off the island, he worked a couple of nods to the character into Cecil's design, such as the lance he wields in Dark Knight mode, and the Saint Dive attack in Paladin mode which references one of Kain's attacks in The After Years.

Saint dive yes, lance no. That was used in Yoshitaka Amano's artwork of Cecil. It fits more with the second costume because it was shown with that lance-blade thingy.

A lot of reference to Amano's artworks is in this game such as poses and costumes. But having reference in characters is shown in this game. Firion has reference to everyone but gordon and hilda to my knowledge. Guy's axe, minwu's buckler, maria's bow, leila's knives, ricards spear, josef's punch, ect ect.

also, Nomura said that has said he personally wanted Kain in the game, and if Dissidia ever has a sequel, Kain is guaranteed to be in it.

However I fear if they do make a second dissidia, it will end up turning into SSB, which is a good game, but lets keep it just SSB. I hear a lot of people want sora( I am not a fan of KH characters despite liking the games), but if the add sora, they will have to add other characters from other games and a lot of FF characters will soon be snuffed out for only the popular. If they do make a second, they need to keep is strictly FF so it doesn't get out of hand.

No, the villains have no storyline, but various scenes show them talking among themselves and give a glimpse story from their perspective
