I do not see Who wins and when. It is boring from my perspective. If there was some electronic tagging to indicate contact at least the viewer would understand who wins as it happens. If the blades were real we would know who lost.
I am thinking using modern CGI to instantly digitalise the battle and play it in slow motion so we all could appreciate what happens.
Not everyone could capture the attack and then play it slowly in their minds.
@gespilk Each Kendo player has a flag tied to their back (red or white) and you can tell who gets the point by what the judges see. The judges can see everything basically.
As I see it, it often happens the fighters hit each other almost simultaneously. Sometimes the difference is in milliseconds. I wonder what should be the difference so it will correspond to victory in real life with real weapons. I mean it will take time for the body of the opponent to react to the injury from the blade and for that period of time his weapon could still cause damage.
@gespilk The thing about scoring in Kendo is that its not about who touches there opponent first though. Its about who attacks there opponent perfectly. Looking up how kendo is scored would probably be easier then me try and explain it to you seeing as I dont fully understand it myself. Watching for the perfect strike is what makes it more exciting then watching people flail around with sticks. I could give kids out side sticks and watch that and entertain myself :P

@gespilk if the blades hit simultaneously, then they would both die most likely... lol. or lose half of the arms or get fatally wounded. XD
