wait...i'm embarrassed to admit that i'm canadian and this shocks me. are ridings really distributed government moneys according to party? of course i know conservatives, eg, have a lot of money which they can spend on advertising for in-party use,etc, but government-funded institutions like hospitials, schools, transportation, etc are according to riding? this can't be right....

@russfromdodge You obviously have no idea how Iggy got the Liberal leadership. Dominic Leblanc (whom I supported) was the first to jump into the race. Ignatieff and Rae followed. Nobody else joined the race, and seeing that it would essentially be an Iggy vs Rae race, Leblanc dropped out to support Ignatieff. No longer able to compete with the support behind Ignatieff, Rae dropped out of the race.

As I see it, if Ignatieff can't win the next election, Leblanc will likely become Liberal leader.

@sidewinderrt10 Bob Rae certainly did not ''drop out'',he was told he was out,I remember quite clearly the footage of him storming out of that meeting and stating ''The Liberal Party is NOT one big happy family''.He was furious that no leadership convention was going to take place.Iggy was anointed by a small group of insiders who actually run the LPC.The card carrying LPC membership was to have NO say in this matter.
