this is the best trans am i've seen on youtube.com....my pops had an oringinal 1978 se ... same interior deluxe velor. & those are the original honeycomb rims from the 78 se.... 1 thing I've never seen is any other 78TA se have is a firebird hood ornament which was pretty original... man I got a 1978 firebird, shes my daily driver. got the origional 231 6 cylinder in it. I want to drop an 8 in it and get the interior redone. I am more interested in a less than restored but high performance job, interior restored to origional, suspension, rear end and thats about it. Again I dont want it to be a perfect fully restored car but I want it to be really nice and reliable with some performance. Body is in perfect condition with a nice paint job. Sick Trans Am. Way to go by releasing it's real power. I have a 79 and it runs good, but I want to make mine run like this someday. This one flies like hell! What was the 0-60? It looked like 5 seconds lol. These cars are powerful and can run with anything. Pontiac power!

@drtrash11 Stock they produced around 220 hp. Its not that much power, but you have to consider many things of the late 70s and then youll understand why the firebird went from almost 360 or 370 hp to 220hp.

I've got a question, I am looking at buying a 78 TA and the t-tops don't go back as far as the window does, but on the 78 TA that I already have the t-tops go all the way to the back of the window. Is there a reason for this?

you wil find 3 types of t tops on TA's

1- Hurst t tops 1976-march1978 small ones

2- fisher t tops bigger than hurst march 1978-1981

3- concept t tops, this were not factory installed but many Ta's had them installed afyerwards, they are somewhat rare and they cover the whole roof and have less leaks than factory ones.
