Beuys did so much for this world, especially germany. hes the reason germany is so socialized. he helped develop the green party. just.. how could you see a video and judge him solely on this piece go read his Appeal for an Alternative and actually find out that this man is indeed an intellectual. he saw problems we still face today worse than ever.
what you people can get is that he is a XX century artist... what he is trying to share isn't about beaty. he doesn't care if you find it atractive or dont, Beuys wants to make a social complaint about how tv is LITERALY destroying our lifes. of course this is art.
you should REALLY read some more about Joseph Beuys before even saying he was into drugs. This man revolutioned XXth century's art and his influence is not yet measurable.

I saw a video of Beuys giving a talk on his amrican lecture tour. this makes me remember how riled up the crowd was and make me want to see it again-----Amazing shamen thought provacteur beuys is. never fails to fascinate when one peers at his thoughts from the windows he gave us. Social sculpture and every one is an artist --what brilliant visionary thought dice he casts ---language bubbles grappling with one another in a long continuous speech event. Now ...data event.

How crazy is that crap?! I watched an exposition of Beuys in Berlin and saw it was just rubbish, REAL rubbish maybe out of his rubbish bin...
Rembrandt or Dali for example made art but this SHIT we should believe of that it is art is the product of a psychopath!!!
