this opening is from a later season of jeremy, i remember this quite clearly, jeremy gets trapped under the ice and stuff due to his lack of attention to things, he talks to fishes and stuff. i wish there were full episodes on youtube
i dare any production company to make anything half as good as this. they can't cuz their ideas are garbage or recycled bullshit. gone are the days of awesome children's programing. i feel for the kids today since all they have to grow up to is binoo and toopie. like seriously?
"Colargol" has been originally produced in Poland, in Se-Ma-For studio in Lodz. The art director of the series was Tadeusz Wilkosz, he also created the original puppets, and the cinematographic director was Julia Hartwig. However, the original author of the story, Olga Pouchine, producer, Albert Barille, and music composer, Mireille, were French, which makes Colargol a Polish-French coproduction. Colargol has been known under this name in Poland, France, Holland, Italy and ...
@0raj11 (continued) ... most other countries, but in Britain and USA he was called Barnaby, and in Canada - Jeremy. If you search for Colargol on Youtube you can find different language versions, and after comparing them I think the Polish version has the best music of all...
I've never heard this opening before. I've only heard the 'I'm a bear called Jeremy. I can do most anything...' I grew up watching this programme. Sigh.
Yeah talk about memories ... I wanted that silver briefcase that turned into different things , car, a plane. and what about the ancient indian ghost? Wow too long ago.
Hi There, I'm curious where you got this? I have (what I thought was) every english language episode on a DVD (long story ion how I got it!) and this episode isn't on it. I would love it if they would just release it to the public already! Geez!
I used to watch this show all the time when I was a kid. I remember I didn't understand how they moved. I thought they were puppets on strings or somthing but that they hid the strings really well lol.
That's one of the things English Canada can thank Les Quebecois for.
I used to love this show as a kid. It's not only a childhood sentiment: the program had a special quality about it. It didn't preach, it wasn't vulgar, and it seemed soooo long ;)
Does anyone know why there was another show with the same bear called 'Barnaby'? I used to watch both of them as a kid when I was growing up in Ireland. I loved it. And it doesn't make me feel old, it just reminds me of sitting at my Grannies dining room table. Yay!
Yeah, originally it was a French show called Colargol and it was so popular the British dubbed a few stand alone episodes using the name Barnaby for English audiences. Later, Canada dubbed the entire catalog of Colargol episodes (as Jeremy). These aired in the UK as well so kids everywhere could enjoy the entire Colargol series start to finish.
Oh man, thanks for this! I used to watch this on the Access Network in Alberta as a little kid, and this theme song has stuck with me since. Drove me nuts trying to find proof that it actually existed. :)
Same here, I knew there was THIS tune for a show about a bear named Jeremy, I finally found the little bear animation, but with a totally different song; and now THIS and I'm so excited lol I was thinking I just had a screwy child memory that made stuff up, for awhile...
There were so many different JEremy the Bear openings, different for each story arc or even sub-arc it seems. The type of thing you'd normally associate with animé. And it was a cool show. Sadly you won't find it anywhere outside of Poland, due to legal wrangling.
I used to watch this show all the time back in the 70's on TVOntario. There are some great episodes where Jeremy and his friends go into outer space and other planets. There is also another theme song that went "I'm a bear called Jeremy, I can do most anything..."
There was another British show TVOntario in Toronto used to run back in those days, "Simon In The Land Of Chalk Drawings", which local boy Mike Myers turned into his Simon-in-the-tub skits on SNL.
The show was originally a French cartoon called Colargol (It's the bear's name!) When the show made it's appearance in Britain the bear was named "Barnaby" When I saw it in Canada, they redubbed all the british voices and renamed the bear "Jeremy"
You'll have better luck searching for the original French title.
My kids watched this.I forgot all about it. Also Barbapapa!

While the name of the episode is not shown, I am pretty sure that this is the opening sequence of episode #28 which can be found on a Polish DVD.

Oh yeah, the suitcase was great. It's like the precursor to Diego's backpack.
I'd like to add that this is the intro to a later season of the show - some plot elements from early on have been included in the song.

I believe that the French voices were dubbed again for "Jeremy". I was told that the UK spliced episodes together and omitted stuff out.
The Canadian English version kept everything intact. Yay, Canada!
