Okay. Guys. Doesn't Linnell sound a lot like Flansburgh when they shift-pitch his voice? Because I swore up and down that it was Flans, but apparently it's all Linnell. I only have one friend who listens to TMBG, and we never agree on these things, so I turn to you...tube.
Love this song too. "How Can I Sing Like a Girl?" from Factory Showroom was written because Flans would sing the falsetto part during their live shows.
I will say that yes, but he isn't pitch corrected. Just doing falsetto. I have checked this in an audio editing program, and am almost sure it was not minipulated in any way, and if it was only a bit. Maybe 1 or 2 simitones.
@CapmCPhresh It's way out of John's range though, this would be the only instance of him doing falsetto in a recorded song, as far as I know. Although, it's perfectly possible he actually has a wicked falsetto.
Could you tell me where you found this version of the song? I heard it years ago but I have only been able to find the other one since. I like this one SO much better too. I'd be forever in your debt :)
Best version of hotel detective.

according to This Might Be a Wiki, the high part is linnell's voice and it is pitch-shifted.

1:27. That picture is slightly terrifying. Where did Flans get a baby and why does he have that look on his face?

This is my favorite version of the song.

It's funny! I like it! Especially Johnny Depp's nipple. And Flansy in a dress. Oh, yes.

I agree. I thought the chorus was Flans as well until I looked it up.

I thought it was Linnell, but I see what you mean

I don't know about that, but one of them sounds like Oscar the Grouch in the song, "Nothings Gonna Change My Clothes"

Probably because "Nothing's Gonna Change My Clothes" is Their song.
