I like the idea of how they gave a deeper insight into the life of a forcefully married woman (there's a difference between arranged marriage and forced marriage. This was a "forced marriage", so don't call it an arranged marriage). But I don't think they did a good enough job of demonstrating the Bangali culture.

If you werent from Bangladesh, you wouldn't realize how serious those last few obscene scenes would be to the general public of BD. The illicit affair itself, in reality, would be a huge offense. But in this century, that could be excused (its only a movie & it makes it a little more interesting too). But those last few scenes were of extreme intimacy & completely unnecessary..they went too far. If you're going to make a movie about a certain culture, put an effort into demonstrating it well.

Actually i thought the actress was very naturally beautiful, true she doesn't bathe in 'Fair and lovely' and made to wear contact lens' to make her self prettier, she was very convincing in her part. It was Satish Kaushik who shon for me though, he was brilliant and actually brought me to tears towards the end. The film was good and more should be made like it!
