Leí en internet que había todavía un viaje cada semana que tomaba a pasajeros además de las mercancías. Sabe alguien si es verdadero? Tan sí, cuánto tiempo toma el viaje y cómo podemos reservar nuestro billete?

dear Helmetvanga. I have no idea whats the problem with your comment. The Arica to la Paz Railroad doesn´t work because a few years ago. The bolivian goverment don´t insert money more money for mantenance of the rails and infraestructure. And Now ( 2009 ) Chilean goverment have all the rails in chileand land in perfect conditions to work. Only in The bolivian side need to be repaired. In fact. the managers to this railways are the Bolivian goverment
Chilean foregin policy has failed miserably. Chile does not have ambassador in La Paz. Bolivian Goverment has banned importation of used cars from Iquique into Bolivia, 13,000 jobs at stake. Iquique should presure its government to resolve the international dispute with Bolivia. Chile has taken advantage of bolivia for so long, but now chile has to pay for using water from the Silala spring. The unresolve dispute is also the reason that Bolivia does not want sell natural gas to Chile.

superb video....it brought back memories of my own trans andean rail journey in '90 from Salta to Antofagasta; i managed to get on a freight into Chile....I found it as you say, out of this world, incredible landscapes, with red and yellow mountains, here's hoping that passenger services return again to the andes
Tuve la oportunidad de viajar en tren hasta Puquios el año 91 desde donde comence a recorrer todo el altiplano en bicicleta pero estas imagenes reviven esa experiencia, lastima que se hallan suspendido los viajes turisticos.
