Supposedly the same guys behind the effects in this did that thing for Jeff Bridges in Tron Legacy. It's hard to explain the way it was done, but it's very impressive. I'm not crazy about CGI, but this looked amazing. Pitt proved he could do more than actino roles too with this. As for the film, yeah it's long, but films like this and LOTR make every scene have a purpose while by comparison (as great as they were) Dances With Wolves and Gettysburg are a bit exhausting and could cut 30 min easily

This film is much better than Forest Gump. Forest Gump's message was that you can still have a good life even if you're handicapped. This just puts a whole new perspective on life which I would rate much higher.

i give this a better than sex rating, i simply loved this movie, and Brad Pitt is one of my favorite acters. youre right about the first half, my mind was blown, it pulled me in so much, but the second half wasnt as great as the first but still very good and had me fully watching. very unique movie that probably is one of the best ive seen, i need to buy this on DVD

It's not a bad film, but the part where he's living in New Orleans is way too long...and the affair at the Hotel was...pretty much pointless to me. It's like two different films: the first half is about how he gets younger...the second is a love story with a sad ending, there's not much else to it.
