I'm afraid you would lose that bet. My grandparents stayed behind. My parents and I arrived in the late 60's on a Freedon Flight. And you are wrong. I lived there and I know. Cuba, before Castro had a large and growing middle class. There were more televisions in Cuba in 1958, that in all of Italy! There is some poverty in every country on earth (much more in Cuba now, thanks to Castro). You don't destroy a society because some people are poor. Well, now every Cuban is poor AND hungry.

Love Rubio, however, many Cubans (pre Castro) owned homes and businesses. My own grandfather had a 4th grade education, but through hard work and thrift, he bought three markets and several homes, securing a middle class life (good private schools, yacht clubs, etc) for his family.

I have no doubt your family did well in Cuba but they were a very small minority. The reason Castro was able to take over Cuba was because he offered something most did not have: an equal chance at education and medical care. Pretty much what Obama is offering -- it's called socialism. I bet your parents left in the first wave of exiles.
