Man, can you email me when you find the time. Ridley474@gmail.com. I seriously have major compatible songs. I write all of the time as well as trashing lyrics that are not hot enough. I write lyrics that i call parables
A BRO HOW CAN I GET THAT INSTRUMENTAL THAT U PUT TOGETHER ALL OF THEM ON EVEN MORE THE 2ND ONE WHEN UR ON THE KEYBOARD U GO HARD BRO AND ILL EAT THAT BEAT FOR DINNER ON GOD PLZ LET ME GET IT
That's was hot,I live in Las Vegas,NV but was born and raised in So.Cent.L.A,And As a producer myself you get a BIG "W" for this groove And for all my L.A and So.California Producers and beat makers Keep G Funk alive, and keep showing that California love. This groove reminds me of cruising down crenshaw on a Sunday afternoon.Once again good job Brotha man.
thats a nice track! hey f-major i just have 1 question did all the sounds you used came from the maschine or there just your own sounds u got elsewhere?
Your tracks are too sick bro. I've been watching your channel for a while. You are one of the best that's ever done it. Keep up the outstanding work bro.
Hey man love this track. Just wondering are you using mostly Komplete instruments in this video. Also what are your thoughts on the Moog Little Phatty?
@Altruwest Cool thanks man, love your work. Would you mind answering another question? Do you often record your drums with fixed level like the kick and snare or do you just tap the pads real hard?
@Sytrusze I like to record my drum groove with dynamics and expression, velocity is a very important part of that expression, so I never record my instruments nor drums at a fixed velocity.
I'm from the south and I grew up when the west was on top. This track is too nastey to be just a youtube video. I can see Snoop, Dre, and Game on this to make a West Coast summer anthem. I produce and I like the way you showed the process of playing around until a classic falls in your lap. Great work cuzzin!!!!!!
Listening to this 10 times every day. One of the dopest beats I´ve heard in a long long time. Smooth and classic g-funk. 1 luv and much respect to F Major!
Awesome video, I recently updated my Maschine with 1.6.2 and now I can't get my Edirol PCR 300 to respond; do I need to configure it or should it just auto connect?
@theoutsideas on the MPC if you hit the 16 levels button you will get a menu that allows you to select options such as pitch, velocity, filter etc. If you choose pitch you will also have the option to set the root pad.
Yo man, I like your videos and music alot.. In a post you said you taught yourself to play. I wanted to know if you can recommend any books on theory and/or piano that helped you.. Thank you
@iMuziqProductions I actually only use the Motif ES6 as a midi controller primarily because I like the keyboard action. For sounds I use VSTs primarily. I would suggest you dont focus too much on the gear, just make sure you have the basics (Audio interface, Midi Controller, Monitors).
Really nice!!! I have learn so much from just this one video... Keep up the good work!!! I would say a Maschine Tutorial ... but it's so damn east to use... lol..... holla!!!
It's amazing, in 11 minutes this brotha has managed to kill everything on the radio right now. It's so funky, got me bobbin' my head with a screwface.
Daaaanm!!!! F Major i have to tell u, this beat is BANANAAAAAAs!!! Off The hook, really smooth, to tell u da truth ur da reason why im now planning on buyin a Maschine nxt week, DEFINITELY, was skeptical at first but i've been watchin all kind of vids today on youtube, the 1.6 update with vsts and all dat, tell NI i said ITS OVER!!! There takin OVER, period. Btw those sound r vsts or there from the motif ?
Aw man Battlecat though...I'm hatin now...LOL, thanks for you posts F....I got the maschine after avoidin it all this time and If I known then what I know now, I woulda have been had some hot fire...But I'm still trying to learn it.
@boomtomb honestly bro Maschine has been very crucial for me over the past year and a half of using it. I think its the best computer based workflow available for creating beats. It doesnt replace a DAW for creating songs and mixing, but getting beats together.....its the truth
bro your like the best producer i know on youtube please answer me one question tho did you have any piano training as i just started using midi keyboard and i am picking up on things fast but just wanted to know if you have had any previous training because your pretty good
@PlatinumSoundzMusic Hey bro, thanks for the support! I have no formal training in music. I happened to just read a lot of books on my own pertaining to music theory. I also have alot of DVDs on piano and bass guitar. Today its so much easier though, you can learn about piano quickly on youtube through people like @Gospelmusicians and many others. I highly recommend learning from a gospel player because its the foundation for RnB/Soul/HipHop music.
@KnockSquared thank you sir, you get it! I was really trying to give folks a peek into where the ideas come from as they come, instead of just showing a beat i already made.
It was good to see Battlecatt. I've always been a fan of his since that Domino album. I enjoyed the video bruh. It was a pleasure to get a peak at your workflow with maschine. The first keys you layed down reminded me of Battlecat. The finished beat is rediculous. This is that "ridin' to the cornerstore on a hot Sunday afternoon to get a pack of Bon Tons and wild cherry slushie" type music. I hope you release this one man. I gotta have it for my ride. Peace and Blessings to you F.
Thanks for breaking that down for me mayne, yea I could tell you was moving thru that track cause the light is still coming thru the window the whole time lol..Some cya be going from track to track and the sun will be blazing by the time they get finished it be dark outside they window so I kno you where moving...But I'm going to try it out eventually but I love the Mpc and I like to chop samples, play them over etc..How does it do on samples???
@qdagamer I think the sampling is one of the best parts of Maschine, especially coming from the MPC. The only thing it does not do right now is time stretching. The Chopping and slicing game in Maschine is ridiculous in my opinion.
@Altruwest Thats whats up,so you just import the samples in the computer and its already in the Maschine???Thats crazy, ima have to play with it real soon..Thanks mayne
I pretty much got da same set up except the mpc 2500 would be where the Maschine is at lol....I basically do the same thang when i create so how is the Maschine diffrent from the Mpc 2500,plus this track is bangin mayne, real talk
@qdagamer hey bro thanks for checking the video out, I would say as a previous MPC 2500 user that Maschine can become quite different from the MPC depending on how you use it. The biggest differences for me is that with Maschine Im using VSTis inside of Maschine, and all of the parameters are mapped automatically to Maschine knobs. The other important difference is that I don't have to track out the stems in real time for 45 minutes, I can drop the stems out into Logic in like 5 minutes...
@qdagamer So Maschine actually allowed me to stop using the Novation Remote SL cause I dont need Automap anymore. Maschine also saves me alot of time in regards to basic preproduction. If Im saving 40 minutes of time per beat.....it adds up over the course of a few years lol, trust me on that. I also like how portable my rig is now, everything fits in my laptop bag. I still think the MPC is better for controlling hardware synths, and keyboards, but Maschine has come a long way and is growing
Yo man thats def some major league stuff... im from boston not even close to the west and i really fell that haha but that was some serious shit. keep doing what your doing. ~ MarcM
@thesystemite make sure you are using atleast Maschine version 1.1, preferably 1.6 though, then hold shift+record on the Maschine controller and you will get a 1 bar count in.

What up Fmajor. I know you get a lot of questions about maschine, but I got a question. When you were playing the keys it was like you didnt have to go back and edit whatever you were playing you just played it until it sounded right. It didnt seem like you were running back and forth to the record button. Almost overlapping whatever mistakes you had so to speak. Is maschine capable of doing that?
@EBL Actually I jam on top of my tracks and practice the lines until I get it exactly where I want, then I record it. So what you are seeing me do is exactly that, just jamming until I develop a new phrase to record. Im not really into editing my mistakes at all, I would rather just play things over until its correct. Maschine doesnt really record takes at all, unless you used the Patterns as "takes".
