this is only for the rich not for you or me, unless you got the coin, besides if you don't have the coin that means you are not smart, so you don't deserve to live at least to the filthy rich think. but as supper adapters that we are, we will survive in-spite of this, and when they come out they may not be strong enough to survive this harsh new world and the sad thing is we will not be very generous with them then they do come-out of their holes.
@powerhousephg you are right, for the last few years off and on i have been designing a poor mans version of this, maybe i will build it if i am confident in my design and cost of the do it yourself project is low.
How long of a stay are these designed for? a week, month, year? I think if there ever was a disaster that required an extended stay in a shelter like this you would be screwed anyway because in the even of disaster you don't have anyone to ever empty your septic and eventually you will starve and be overrun by your own shit in overflowing toilets. Not the way I want to die. A short stay on the other hand this would be perfect for
@mikee286 hell we had a family of 4 on a tank for 10 years before we emptied it.. what you want is 2 tanks one for just the toilets and one for all other waste water it gives it more time to break down and you could even collect the methane to burn on the stove
How about some construction details? Any body can design a floor plan with a bathroom. How do you build the walls. Can you do this under an existing structure?
What is your filtering system? Where does the waste go? Water comes from where?
Fallout shelters are a joke. Nobody ever considers that you eventually have to come out and then you starve to death. Stay in your beds and get it over with.
Anyone seen the movie blast from the past? Totally watch it! Christopher Walken's fallout shelter is awesome! very fallout 3 with his own shopping centre!
@OregonMilitia On the contrary, you really only need 3-4 feet of dirt to protect against radiation. This shelter has 24 inch thick concrete reinforced steel walls and ceiling and is burried 14 feet under the earth. I can assure you this is more than enough protection.
@OregonMilitia Actually this shelter is very real and if you look closely there is an NBC filtration system installed between the dining room and the kitchen. This filtration system filters out the air being pulled in from the outside and replaces the air on the inside of the shelter. Any contamination from the propane stove are easily removed with this. And also the propane is burried in a huge propane tank under the earth. See our new video of the completed version by searching joeyhanner.
@brettxx7 Switzerland makes it mandatory that every building be equipped with a concrete bomb shelter. They have enough bomb shelter space for vurtually their entire population.
@xSARGENTxTACOx (face palm to you ) the Japan say is INES lev 7 , IAEA say is INES 5, BTW is NOT like the Cernobal ( you write the name wrong) is 10% of the Chernobyl accident (is bad i know and we will see in time the efects /10-20 years ). i belive there was 2 explosions at Fukushima ... and is not over yet .
@xSARGENTxTACOx Do you know what happens when a nuclear reactor can't be cool down ? is out of control , the nuclear reaction is not under control and will go to a critical mass and all the energy will set free in a NUCLEAR explosion. What the specialists say : which led to a reactor vessel rupture and a series of explosions (nuclear ones). The radioactive material is present in both cases and in few years the vegetation and fauna will conquer the land like any place left by humans.
@aleazcazan let's see who is :). In the reactors is a nuclear chain reaction - that involve nuclear material.
The difference between a usual bomb and a nuclear one is the fallout/radiation/long term effect from the radioactive material. That is way the nuclear bombs power is expressed as kT TNT equivalent. So any explosion that involves the effect of A-bomb .... is a nuclear one. What do you expect from uncontrolled nuclear chain reaction... and there was a hydrogen explosion ..thermonuclear.
What a joke looks like a half shanty tin box you would find in a trailer park does not look capable of withstanding a wind storm above ground enjoy being crushed or trapped underground when an earthquake happen
@hillary80829 This shelter has 24 inch thick concrete walls and ceiling as well as burried 14 ft under the earth. In fact we drove heavy equpment over it after back filling. I can assure you that it exceeds industry standards. Please see our new video of the completed version by searching joeyhanner on youtube.
what if you buy that and there was no nuclear doomsday? i need some assurance of a doomsday before i invest in that. imagine if it were almost done when the bombs fell thatd be even worse.
@somethingsnigh think of it like an insurance policy.......like auto insurance. You don't want to get in an accident but at least you have insurance should it happen. I think it far more likely, these days, that you would need it for civil unrest when society, the dollar etc. colapses than an atomic war. Of course back when I was a kid the only thing we were thinking of is that the russians were going to nuke us. Nothing else. Things are more complicated now
@xSARGENTxTACOx actualy at Cernobal is full of life, many "wild life", more than in a normal forest, the vegetation is all over ... the bad thing is the radiation
@1isaacmusic These doors are usually powered with either a manual assist device (you pump, crank, or simply push in some cases), a powered assist, or both. It is also common practice to have a portable jack in the same room in case both systems fail.
@Canis1969Lupus1 The NBC air filtration system used in this shelter is top of the line, imported directly from Switzerland. These have been tested and approved by Armament Technology and Procurement Group, andwere designed and manufactured according to the directives of the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Defense. Switzerland has one of the highest levels of civil defense. They make sure that every building is equipped with a concrete bomb shelter, providing for vutually their entire population.
@xSARGENTxTACOx "No animals or plants, people will end up turning to cannibalism"
not true at all. with the right number of dollars i could build you a self-sufficient hole in the ground and you could live until you were old and gray. there are entire cities built underground populated by thousands of people who's sole mission is to disprove what you just said. and we aren't even talking current tech here, they've been able to do this for 50+ years now.
@xSARGENTxTACOx same here, we think the exact same, i mean, think bout it, id rather be one of the people fighting as a family with guns then hide out for years, i mean, look at the fallout video game series, that would SUCK
The only problem is no one knows what they are protecting themselves from in terms of 2010 this thing certainly won't protect you from being burried under 3 miles of ice or if there was a long term fire above the shelter it would become your delayed tomb
@patriot907 - screw the lowly poor stupid fucks like you - It's the rich and strong that deserve to survive so they can build a better world without any stupid fucks!

I would imagine it would have to be pushing the one million dollar mark.
I would certainly have one built if I could.
