Back in 1982, I bought a Stihl 090 gear drive (61" cutting attachment) for $100, well used, but ran fine. Then sold it for $200, thinking I did good, now I find it's worth around $2K.
found out some specs for the 3 above saw's....090-137cc Stroke 40mm, Max torque 9,5 Nm(7.0lb.ft)..088 121cc stroke 43mm, Max torque 8,0 Nm(5.5lb.ft)... 3120 118cc stroke 42mm, Max torque cant find it anywhere..anyways the 090 is a torque monster!! as for max power for the 090 i dont know from 8.5hp to 13hp....
@DennisH22A you dont tune a saw like a bike as in clean up top,a saw should be a little rich up top ..in the cut under load it will clean up and sound sweet...that's why alot of dudes blow saw's up running them to lean up top...hope that helps....
@rogue200sx Friend of mine has a chainsaw store, sells, and does factory rated/warranty repairs Stihl, Husky, Echo. Many saws come in that customers say ran great, right before they quit. Lean sieze failure of course. Operators tying to squeeze out that last couple hundred RPM's. Actually he and wife all kinds of 2 stroke power tools, but mainly these 3 top brands, sold Homelite too, until they went to CHINA. Scott has been to several factory tours of all 3 saw Mfr's. Here and Germany.
@manostihl I had a 090 back in 1982, they didn't run all that fast, 8,000-8,500 with the grear drive, and reed valve motors. slower than piston-ported for extra torque.Sounded slow, but you couldn't stop it with 61' cutting attachment on there.
man I love big saws thumping away at idle...

The 2 Stihl's are a little out of tune on the top end.
