I remember playing this on my VHS singing this so much I memorized Daryl's part and can remember it to this day. I'd sing along with him whenever I could.
@ShayeMarie77 It's on their very first album "Victory Shall Be Mine" recorded under the now defunct label Sweet Rain. It's almost impossible to find. If you search hard, you may find a "mom & pop" type gospel store that may have it on cassette or vinyl.......sorry :(
i can listen to daryl coley all day. god bless daryl cuz he is truly anointed and is giving us on earth a taste of the what the heavenly angels sound like. Can you imagine being in heaven and listening to this song forever. I can't even describe what his voice do to my soul.
The 1980's were hell for me....failing out of college....nervous breakdown in '83, losing weight almost dying...years of recovery.....this song , and album really made a difference for me!!! One of the few bright moments during that very hard time!!
Who am I to question Gods wisdom?I am NOTHING! Who am I to question Gods judgements...I am nothing! Wow! And we do it ever so often and especially when we get mad. SMH, Lord, forgive my questioning. I MUST realize that you are sovereign!
N-otices. To Live Is CHRIST,... requires daily sacrifice. And it feels so nice,...preparing for Pearly Gate paradise. Trust and adjust,.but never try to rush JEHOVAH GOD.
My GOD, My GODHe sings from his soul you can actually feel the wonderful presence he bring when he sings ,Just "AWSOME" It doesnt Get any better Mr.Coley deserves a Stella and many, many many more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol the baddest man in gospel ... I think Smokie Norful came closest to his style .. Tonex's runs were killer too .... but Daryl's voice control was out of SIGHT
Sovereign, Sovereign; The Lord my God is Sovereign. He can do whatever He wants to do. He can do whatever He wants to do, when He wants to. God can do whatever He wants to do, when He wants to, & How He wants to; Because He's Sovereign, God is God. Who am I, to question His wisdom [I am nothing]. Who am I, to question God's judgement [I am nothing].Who am I to be offended by His ways, by whatever He allows to be? I must realize that my God is [Sovereign].
this song has gotten me through the last few months. with everything that comes in life i've truly had to learn to trust in God's methods of bringing me out of situations.and not to question why trials come because if he allowed thm to come then hes gonna allow them leave. Thank you God for being Sovereign in my life.
Daryl Coley needs to be recognized for his contribution to gospel music. He is the epitome of excellence. His voice is amazing. I applaud you, Daryl. Back in the day, people really sang. I first heard Daryl in the 70's and was blown away. He's not only a singer, but a great teacher. He taught my son so much and now Brian is one of the most gifted young gospel musicians in the country. Thanks Daryl.
GODZgal77 Said it best!!!! Daryl Coley's voice is so gifted and balanced that it is off the charts! I have never ever ever heard any MALE voice in gospel that can touch Daryl in his prime....you heard me??? Daryl was is and will always be the best male Gospel singer of all times!!! SiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnG DARYL SING MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Daryl Coley is WITHOUT A DOUBT !! the MOST AMAZING male voice ,in gospel EVER !!!!! This is his signature song, it NEVER loses it's power to make us shout, for JOY ! Siiiiiiiiiiiiiing Daryl !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No disrespect to Darryl, but there's a young man in Arlington, TX at an Arlington church that sings this like I've never heard from anyone on the planet. Wish he were popular, but he doesn't want the credit

I mean they are all great in their on right. Lets just enjoy them all. :-)
@atltallone907 Yeah. I love all those secular artists. But as a person that worked in the industry, I personally believe Gospel music is the best and Gospel singers are the best.
Imma try to sing this song when I get the chance to on my choir. Every since I've heard this song, it's been burning in my heart and I know I just gotta sing this song when I'm not working one Sunday.
This song burns song much in my heart that every so often I find myself singing it at work. Glory to GOD ALMIGHTY!!!!!

I spent a very spiritual holy ghost time with my brother. God is God and He CAN do what ever he wants to and I bow to his authority AMEN
Oh man. Daryl Cole is one of my favorite singers. The man can flat out sang!!! I did praise dance to this song and I mean God's Spirit tore the church up. The Holy Ghost was moving and the people were going crazy praising God.
this song was written by Carol Antrom. I had the pleasure of working with her in numerous workshops in my hometown of Louisburg NC. She is truly and annointed composer.
I just LOVE this song. I used to sing with Wilmington Chester Mass, i really miss them and Ernie Davis may God rest his soul. There was another Tenor that used to sing this when Daryl wasn't there, his name is Terrence Bratten.... and man could he SANG. Thank you for posting this... it really blessed my soul
I Believe they are on certain parts where u can hear the bass and tenor's Especiall yon the I am nothing part.... If Not maybe im just putting it in there lol
The memories...the memories!! I love this song. They use to praise dance to this song! I love it..and Daryl Coley aint nuffin to mess with....he'll sing you up to glory!!
I still remember the first time I heard this recording visiting Charlotte, NC. in 1989, it has been my theme song ever since. May God always bless you. Much love
To God be the glory for giving us a talent like this!! I shall pray for Pastor Coley because he has and shall always be one of the few men of God who has touched my spirit. I have and will always remain his number one fan from the first time I heard him and especially now and he shall always have a special place in my heart whether he is here with us on earth or with our father in heaven..
Thank you for the correction. I talked with Quincy Fielding last month...we used to sing w/ Daryl. That's who told me, he may have receive bad information. I will still keep him in my prayers.
i saw an interview a little while back he only lost partial vision in one of his eyes! i know that had to be an awesome experience to sing with daryl coley!!!! he is my favorite male voacalist!
Yes, those were what I call the "good old days". It was the early 80's right after he moved from the Bay area to LA. He not only has an incredible voice, he has a tremendous testimony. Those were the days we had 3 and 4 hour long rehearsals. I still sing, but I don't have it in me like that anymore! LOL
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Daryl Coley sings well, but he seems quite feminine. Why is it that many men in our African American Gospel choirs seem very feminine? Why is it a running joke among comedians that in order for the choir to sound good they have to have 2 or 3 gay people in the choir? (See Ice Cube's movie "First Sunday.")
You sound quite ignorant for that statement...there wasn't any feminine about him singing this song. Be blessed and ask God to help your discernment...young blood
Smang- we shoudl take time to sweep around our own doors and pick the speck out of our own eyes before seeing the speck in others. Prayerfully no one will ever come on youtube and point your spec out. The scriptures says we should regard no one after the flesh but look at them through the eyes of christ. We should see people the way GOD sees them and not the way Ice Cube sees them. May GOD bless you and prosper your future.

I've always hated crowds but when this group would perform on the Parkway in Philly I would make myself deal with all those people.

We need to keep Daryl in our prayers. He has lost his sight. He is a great person with an awesome talent.

LOL

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Daryl Coley sings well, but he seems quite feminine. Why is it that many men in our African American Gospel choirs seem very feminine? Why is it a running joke among comedians that in order for the choir to sound good they have to have 2 or 3 gay people in the choir? (See Ice Cube's movie "First Sunday.")
smangaliso123 3 years ago
You sound quite ignorant for that statement...there wasn't any feminine about him singing this song. Be blessed and ask God to help your discernment...young blood

Smang- we shoudl take time to sweep around our own doors and pick the speck out of our own eyes before seeing the speck in others. Prayerfully no one will ever come on youtube and point your spec out. The scriptures says we should regard no one after the flesh but look at them through the eyes of christ. We should see people the way GOD sees them and not the way Ice Cube sees them. May GOD bless you and prosper your future.
