I am thinking of making a katana using this tutorial, but where are all of the other parts??? I xan only find part 3, 8.1,8.2,8.3 and part 10 D:!!! Please reply asap so i can get to work :)
I saw that you told someone else on the comments you had a list on your deviantart gallery, could you maybe give me the link to it? I looked on your deviant but I didn't see it, I'm probably not looking in the right place ^^;;
for wood filler also you can try white glue and the wood dust that falls when you cut the wood just pu it on a recipe and mix and that it doesn't get that well as i suppose i´d would get with wood filler but is cheaper
can i use just a regular metal file from a multi-tool knife?will a bonesaw from a swiss army multi-tool knife work as a replacement for a coping saw?wood a Surgical mask work instead of a dust mask?
for the file, I can't really comment. Just make sure you have a very fine one for precise work. Don't use a multi tool saw, you'll just strip your nerves using those. You CAN do with one, but I wouldn't suggest it.
And a surgical mask does fine for a dust mask. Even wrapping a cloth around your head does. The point is to protect you from inhaling the dust.
@imnotokayfan The rule of thumb is that if it works it works. The tools listed are the ones I've found most effective, but I can't say for the bonesaw or the multi-tool, as I haven't used them. But Wallu is right on the mask, it's the dust we're worried about.
what wood you recomen(i know that you said on the vid but i could not heard it verry well) or if you can e-mail me a list of things to buy that would be verry helpful, but if you cant \hust tell me the name of the wood and where i could find it
No problem, I would go with 1/4" pine or aspen wood, and you can probably find it at a lumber yard or hardware store, and maybe a craft/hobby store. As for the list of stuff to get, check out my deviantart gallery, I've got the tools listed out.
If you buy the amount of wood I suggest, you'll have enough for all the sword parts. As for the decorative parts like paint and wrapping, that'll be in a separate vid.

Is wood glue preferable over super glue, and if so, why?
worldwizards 1 year ago
@worldwizards super glue is messy and dries thick. Wood glue is stronger with wood and will allow the wood pieces to sit flush.

Hey! Why do you need 5 pieces of wood?? Why do I need so many?
Thanks for the awesome videos!!!
cuellarmariana 2 years ago
@cuellarmariana Well, you make all the parts of the sword with that wood, and that 5 pieces includes some extra in case of error. Very welcome.

I'd actually suggest, for woods, using Basal wood. It carves well, since it's kind of soft, but it's a bit more durable. :3

what about hardwood like locous ?
BIGMUCK9407 2 years ago
I haven't tried it myself, but go ahead and try it. Hardwoods tend to be harder to carve, but are much more rugged.

Glad you find them helpful! I had been buying the wood at Home Depot, but they discontinued the product I used. I'm still looking for another source.
