"Pays a lot of attention to realistic characters"? Oh? Like the "realistic" characters in Legend? Which characters would you be talking about? Perhaps Thelma&Louise? Gladiator? Surely you mean the characters in Blade Runner? Yes, those are very true to reality.

Ridley is a great director, because he directs very well. Duh. His characters are whatever the story calls for, realistic, or not. True to life, or over-the-top. These are films we are discussing, not documentary.
