It's doubly ironic being the 40 year anniversity of Woodstock that it should rain half way through the show. I fully expected the crowd to start chanting .."NO rain, no rain"....just as they did 40 years ago. Fortunately it wasn't much of a rain and Paul summed it up nicely when he stated, "we're not going to let a little rain ruin the show".
I've never seen a better show in my life. Amazing that a Beatle with a genius talent can outperform damn near anyone. This ...was magical.
Great atmosphere throughout the entire park (everyone was smiling and singing along and having a wonderful time). I've been to about 50 concerts in my life and I've never seen such a good positive upbeat mood in a crowd like this. I guess Paul McCartney brings it out in everyone! :-)
Thought it was cool when he mentioned it was the 40 year anniversary of Woodstock 8/15/69 and 44 year anniversary of The Beatles playing at Shea Stadium 8/15/65.
I was there too near the fron with my wife. Although I did see 3 near fights that night but like you said Paul brings out the best in us all with his music ! I've been to many concerts in 42 years and I hold this as my FAV ! I was at Citi field and radio city music hall when he and Ringo reunited...But still the positive attitude of everyone in the crowed made this beautiful !!...P,S, The rain added to it in a weird sort of way !!!
That was my first concert ever and I absoulutely loved it. I love him so much and when my dad said we were going I screamed so loud. No other concert can beat his. I loved how it rained. It made it more special somehow, but it just did.
Great Show. Took my 12 year old daughter to her first concert. Mine was Kiss in 1979 at the Omni in ATL. Wouldnt be awesome if RIngo would tour with him. Maybe not play the whole show but maybe on the old tunes. he must have play over 30 songs. We all got our moneys worth, thats for sure.
I was there too. Right in the front. :)
Best. Day. Ever.
