  • I finally remembered what this song brings out of the attic of memory: Rumours Bar in Falmouth, 27th November, 1992. Someone out there may remember the occasion!

  • Carolholm, you are dead right. There is no combination under Heaven greater than a Dave Mallett song and Liam Clancy to sing it. Think of this, or The Painter, for example.

  • Its wonderful see what a performer Liam was. When you hear him you feel he was THERE; he lived these events jimself.

  • what are those drums called?

  • @chrissept21 Irish instrument called 'the 'Bodhrán'

  • You are listening to and seeing a LEGEND.... and that is Liam Clancy!

  • This is pure pasion and raw talent

  • GO PEI

  • Thanks people for this song. I'm absolutely new in irish music/song. I'm from India. And find William, Tom and Bobby and Paddy mind blowing. Clancy brothers rock. Even I heard High Kings, they are also very good. Tom Makem is also good.

  • My God, how Liam poured his soul into his performances. And the audience applauds politely. They should all be on their feet dancing and cheering!

Fine job all around and lyrics fit the song perfectly.

  • I think the fiddler is Martin Murray (Theres another youtube of the same concert where Liam Clancy introduces the band.)

  • You have to give some credit to Dave Mallett who took a reel that everyone has heard and give it life with words and story!

  • @carolhofm David is a true poet and a credit to our state of Maine ..W.C.

  • Beautiful song and beautifully sung here by Liam, but ive got to also give credit to the fiddle player in this, absolutely brilliant.

    Anyone know his name?

  • @johhhn987s

It looks like it may be Johnny Cunninham. What do you think. How can we find out.

  • @johhhn987s I think the fiddler is Martin Murray (Theres another youtube of the same concert where Liam Clancy introduces the band.)

  • @johhhn987s Yeah thats Martin Murray alright. Great fiddler.

  • @johhhn987s For a fiddler, try john sheean from the dubliners.

  • love this song sung by liam

  • Thanks for posting! This version was up for awhile & then vanished. Liam Clancy is an amazing entertainer & a brillant storyteller. I'm truly thankful to have seen him & Tommy Makem a number of times.

  • Thanks for posting this. Such a pretty song, and the fiddle tune (St. Anne's Reel) is lovely. I've seen the Clancy's a few times, and even got a chance to chat with Paddy for a while. Seen Robbie O'Connel as well. I'll be sad when Liam (the last brother) passes. :( Hopefully he'll be around for a while longer!

  • Love it!! Thanks for posting!!
