  • Was just Wondering if you can use this for geocaching! You know like were you type corodinates into a gps and it makes a route and finds things!,

  • @thechiefaroo You can absolutely use it for geocaching. We tested the Cradle with the following apps: Geocaching (V3.1) and Geosphere (V2.1.1), but there are more apps. Please visit the Cradle's web site (GPScradle.dualav.com) and check out the blog for more information.

  • where do you buy this from

  • I like how you used the Honda Civic (R) to represent the cars in the commercial. Very nice and appealing touch.

  • mine says loading and its not downloading please help

  • hi dude

its there maps for saudi arabia ? and if is there how can i order this one ?

    N thx

  • does it work in canada?

  • Wow this is cool and I thought that the gps rsver is in the iPod it's self

  • What kind of GPS receiver is it? Average or good sensitivity? I would want to use more for Geocaching and with RunKeeper without the contract of an iPhone. Seems a little steep in price, but will seriously consider.

  • can i buy this at bestbuy?

  • If the cradle's $200, why not just buy an iPhone?

  • @SandburgSpartans monthly plan cost another hundred, per month

  • I am finaly getting one next week. And I love that add I watch it every day it is so cachy.

  • I'm wondering... Microphone builtin?

  • wish it wasnt 2 gb for the app. i only have 2 gb left on my itouch :(

  • @TouchDawg you can use it with google maps or other gps software, most full cover gps maps are 2gb, thats the space for all the information of the whole contry, if you only need a part some software allow smaller bits (eg tomtom)

  • Does anyone know if this device will update its map database as do other gps devices? and Secondly how is t

  • it's just a GPS, it'll use the maps of any of the other ipod gps mapping tools

  • More details:

NavAtlas works best with destinations with street addresses. It will remember previous addresses youve typed in as well as let you create you own personal POI list (this lets you turn a destination into a recallable landmark.) If youre out hiking and want to set a waypoint based on a specific latitude & longitude, try a different app (Topo Maps & Gaia GPS come to mind).

  • Do you know if we can use the cradle with perhaps TomTom or another GPS app?

  • @Frezkee Yes, it provides gp signal for all normal maps and gpd programs, and it is using a stronger gps chip than the one in iphone

  • Just got an email update. Due out late February in the US first. Details about exactly when/where and how much aren't yet official. Here's what little I know do know.

    Price: $179.99.

Will the GPS Cradle fit over your case? No. The GPS Cradle only adds 0.7 of thickness & 3 oz. of weight.

You can sync and charge via the USB port.

Free NavAtlas is a little over 2GB. Released Jan. 9th.

  • Wow thats one hell of an app... lol

  • Finally something for the itouch.

  • But why did they design it for the Touch exclusively? I own an iPhone, not a Touch. Unless I missed something, this device will do me and millions like me no good whatsoever.

  • @jiminycrickett5 iPhone have some gps things in it like maps..not the ipod touch cause you always need wifi, except for this time ! :)

  • because iphones already have a gps built in. ipod touches dont

  • @jiminycrickett5 the dual is for ipod users that either have other phone or cannot afford the iphone as the iphone has already built in gps, although less powerful the iphone can also use the 3g network to adjust gps, so the ipod touch is needing it more

  • Would Gowalla and Foursquare work?

  • Just checked this morning. It was just added to the app store.

  • When will this be available in the US, also when in the UK? I am in the UK can I use it with other map software like TomTom, Copilot etc? Thanks

  • This thing blows the tom tom out of the water. this have a free application and much smaller reciever that you can just keep on the device. The tom tom you can only use in the car with a bulky device which costs $100 bucks and you have to pay $50 for the app. What a rip off. this device has free and hopefully a price under 100 as stand alone units now cost 50 bucks

  • Okay, really? Almost January and still no device? I'd love to buy it but I don't see it anywhere.

  • Europe, The Netherland is interrested too!

  • The software they are showing in the video looks exactly like G-Map. I don't know if they've licensed G-Map for private label or what, but if you have an iPhone 3G or 3GS, and you like what you see here, G-Map is available at the appStore.

  • What the tomtom is like 90$ i would pay like about that for this hopefully its less!!!

  • i really want to get one, but i just can't find it. So where can i find it???? Please tell me as soon as its come out. THX

  • Is the Application on Itunes i looked didn't see it there. Anyone know?

  • Availibility, still end of November ? Price ?

  • when is the app going to be avaliable? I did not seeit on the appstore

  • I cant even get the app from the app store?

  • why not for iphone? this could be a real rival to the tomtom car kit and any "juice pack".

  • Their website says the maps are "built-in" and no wi-fi is needed. Read before bashing, please.

  • Cool !!! i gonna to buy it as soon.

  • $180 bucks? If I already didn't have a Garmin nuvi I would spring for this in a heartbeat.

  • This is so stupid. Where are you going to get your WiFi connection from. Yes it might be able to upload and save the directions before you leave your home but what if you get lost. Notice the Wifi signal on the iPod shown keeps appearing and disappearing. Pointless product.

  • You don't need a wifi connection. The maps and application are all on the ipod. The GPS doesn't use wifi for positioning. In fact you don't need wifi at all for this to work.

  • Well, maybe pointless for some. As a Verizon phone owner, I should be able to share my Verizon Data Connection via WiFi from my Windows Mobile 6.5 (which is crap, just so yall know - die Microsoft die) hacked Samsung Omnia with the iPod Touch. Technically, this is feasible. All the benefits of the iPhone, with a reliable, all over high speed data network to boot. I have up till now avoided the iPhone given AT&T crap network. Finally, into the happy Apple portable world I go.

  • so tru, i dont know why people gave u a thumbs down for that...

might as well just get google maps app, does the same thing

  • Just to clarify, the Google Maps app requires WiFi to work and it does not provide spoken turn-by-turn directions. Dual's NavAtlas is a fully-featured navigation app, and it does not require a WiFi connection. Thank you.

  • Ok just to clarify, where is the app on itunes? its not there.

  • Does it work with other GPS apps on the iphone like Google maps, topo maps app, Geocaching app etc..

If it does you guys will sell allot!!! The Iphone Geocaching app is the best Geocaching on ANY GPS.You guys should really make shure you get your GPS add on to support it! an I would love iPhone support too since the iPhones GPS Stinks!

  • Awesome news for all iPod Touch owners

  • when can people be able to get this?

  • This has got to be the greatest accessory to the iDevices yet. A free navi-app and a battery/gps cradle? I call that a seller, lets hope it does on par or better than the TomTom App :)

  • awesome. i'm getting
