  • do pre bought bridgless atomizers have wicks in them?

  • @Pianoman077 i'm not entirely sure as i've never bought a pre-deridged atty

  • Love Totally Rad Show! Thanks for the tutorial

  • @zethca YES! TRS!!! and you're welcome ^_^

  • @BorisVFX sorry you feel that way, removing the wick can be easy but there are some learning curves, sometimes this mod just isn't for everyone

  • inteligent mind, :P.

  • @ethnikhart lol thanks!

  • do you take this out just for dripping? or do you take it out for normal vapeing as well? Why do you suppose they put them in their? thanks for your reply....love your vids

  • @mannbrad1 the threads are there to lead juice from the cart to the heating coil so yes, this mod is just for those who are dripping (which i highly recommend over using traditional carts) - thanks for the support! happy vaping!

  • What's an atomizer? XD

  • @C00lman555 lawl

  • Thank you. Atty fixed. No more burning plastic taste, just clean dripping. :)

  • @klone138 glad taking out the wick helped you out, happy vaping!

  • I wish I had watched this video as soon as I started vaping! I accidentally stumbled across the wick in my atomizers, mistakenly thinking it was pocket lint or some sort of debris that had got down in there. I never knew atomizers had a wick in them! I can only imagine how much this will help my atomizers from here on out. I use strictly low resistance attys and considering that they get hotter than standard attys, I would assume the wick is more likely to melt onto the coils.

  • @UnitySkateJoust it's funny that some people have no problems with wick but for me i absolutely hate the wick, every freaking time i vape on an atty that wick just destroys the experience. it's very to-each-is-own but i'm glad you've found the video informative and maybe even helpful! happy vaping!

  • This looks just like mine. Ego. I feel like my throat is burning when I vape, do you think this is why. The unit is only a week old. I can't figure why my throat hurts so bad.

  • @rico300zx there can be a couple of reasons why your throat is hurting: wick is burning or you could have an allergic reaction to PG, remove the wick and try vaping VG juice, it's hard to pinpoint something like that but those are my suggestions, hope that helps!

  • @phee303 yea i dont know i, i tried switching flavors, same deal, my throat hurts when i vape. i just hop others read this maybe other would have encountered the same thing, the strange thing is iv heard of noone complaining of this but me.

  • Very well done demo. I have also had many problems with excessive burning in these atomizers. I will try this with my next atty.

  • @twaks99 hope it works out for you! ^_^

  • What's the point of the wick anyway? If it just burns into the coil and creates shit taste, why is it there in the first place?

  • Goddamn, don't have pliers large enough to pick them up. I should have probably done this before vaping for four days.

  • @taistelutomaatti yeah, its definitely something you'd want to do before using the atty too much

  • @taistelutomaatti yeah, its definitely something you'd want to do before using the atty too much

  • @taistelutomaatti yeah, its definitely something you want to do before you start using the atty.

  • @phee303 attys were made to use with carts, the wick is designed to draw juice from the batting in the carts - most vapers throw away carts and prefer the dripping method therefor not needing the wick. some users prefer to have the wick but personally i like not having the wick either way

  • Thank you so much for your advice, it works really fine for me. I've spread the word, linking your video, on the main french forum, hope you don't mind. Cheers :-)

  • @Nocturnalpriest thats great! i'm glad you've found it useful, there's always such of mix of responses =P hope it helps out over there on the french forums!

  • Nice vid Phee. Hey at least you didn't have a shaky cam through-out the vid. I just ordered my Liberty Flights RIVA 510 and planning to strictly drip out of it so I'll have to de-wick one of the attys when I get it. Thanks again man!

  • @coilover2005 hahaha thanks! and yeah, i seem to have to de-wick everything these days =P glad you could find the video useful ^_^

  • recently got me a joye ego with a 510 atty. it vapes well, but for some reason it tasted weird out of the box (blew off the oil that comes with it). This video solved my problems regarding that unwanted taste.. now i'm vaping and TASTING the flavors I want!!! no more odd tasting vapes for me.. thanks phee!!! you're the man!!! :D

  • @libero244 glad you could find some useful info out of the video! happy vaping!! thanks!

  • yo phee do i need a wick?im using a 6v vaporizer...

  • @kumun67 i only recommend removing the wick if you're getting a burnt taste on a freshly dripped atty, if you're not experiencing that than there's no need to remove it =] you can try it out and see if you get better flavor but it's not completely necessary if you're not having any trouble as is

  • WOW THANK YOU

  • @thehacksrule no problem!

  • can the threds make it teaste like shit?

  • @thehacksrule in my experience, sometimes it does

  • dude you should do a video on how to dewick a leo atty please

  • @alovato28 i wish i could but unfortunately i dont have access to the leo atty, i'm sure its a similar concept though =]

  • nvm, got them out. had to pull them out from the other side of the bridge lol

  • @Tremium lol glad you got them =]

  • the threads won't move at all with my regular 510 atty, damn.

  • thank so so much man! i've only been vaping for about a week, and my other buddies have been doing it for over a year now. my friends and i love this mod. thanks again!

  • @gyver711 not a problem! happy vaping!

  • hi guys,,jast wanna ask...is it okay to remove instantly the wick in lr510 even before the first of it....?...i learned that the wick only works when using a cartomizers..since im using direct dripping, is it okay to remove instantly,..cuz in my last atty, it produces severe burn taste, and even i cleaned and removed the wick, still the burn taste is there,,..i think that the burnt wick has already merge with the coil...so is it okay to remove the wick, the first it is used?...

    thnx guys...c",)

  • @makoylatiza you should not be removing anything from cartomizers, removing the wick from a LR510 is fine before first use, in fact i recommend removing wicks from non-carto attys before it has a chance to mold around the coil. not sure where you're getting your info from but i would definitely not be modding cartomizers and as always removing the wick is a preference, i still recommend it beforehand over way later. happy vaping!

  • @phee303 so sir, if i buy a new lr510 atty, you do recommend taking of the wick...?..

Thank you so much sir...thank you....you do really help us a lot...more power to you..and happy vaping to you too sir...

  • @makoylatiza it all depends. i really only remove the wick if on the first couple vapes theres a burnt taste or is way too harsh. if not i'll just vape with the wick, for the most part i almost always have to remove the wick after the first two puffs =P

  • great vid thanks man !

  • @jakeisham20 thanks! not a problem!

  • I took the threads out of my 510 and now i'm direct dripping, I get loads of vapour, loads of flavour and best of all absolutely no burning taste!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH! Completely solved my problem :)

  • @gwl1983 glad it helped! happy vaping!

  • Will this work if you use regular cartridges? I'm getting a horrible burnt taste so I'm gonna have to take the threads out but will the cartidges be useless if I do that?

  • @gwl1983 yeah, i wouldnt recommend doing this if you're a cartridge user - it still works but not very well, this mod is for dripping. on the same note, what are you doing still using cartridges? start dripping or get some cartos! =]

  • @phee303 I've ordered a new atty & i'm going to take the threads out straight away & i'm gonna start direct dripping. I'm a new e-cig user, what are cartos? Could I also ask you roughly how much e-liquid you get through in a week because I've almost finished a 20ml bottle in less than a week, is that a lot?

  • @gwl1983 @gwl1983 what device are you currently using? i can point you in the right direction for the appropriate carto (cartomizer) for your device. if you're going to start dripping, may i recommend a nice drip-tip?

as for usage, i vape roughly 3ml/day - 20ml/week sounds like quite a lot but everyone vapes different amounts =P

  • @phee303 I'm using the Genesis 510 model with an automatic battery, I'd really appreciate any tips you could give me!

  • @gwl1983 if u're not too attached to how the ecig looks i'd ditch ur standard ecig and move over to something like the ego, the battery will last u all day instead of just a couple hours and is compatible with LR atomizers. u can get ego kits at vaportalkstore and puresmoker for relatively cheap - pair that up with any sort of LR atty and you'll be extremely satisfied =] but if you're going to stick with the standard one you have now (which i dont recommend) u can get cartos from electronicstix

  • @phee303 Sorry i'm such a noob, what is an LR atomiser?

  • @gwl1983 just look for my video "Novice Vapers: Atty Resistance"

  • @97mwildan if you're getting a burnt flavor and you're a 'dripper' this mod usually helps out by getting rid of the burnt taste, in addition to that this mod sometimes results in more vapor and better flavor, your milage may vary.

  • thanks so much for this video i got my first e cig about 3 days ago and everything was going great until just about a half hour ago. I started getting a real nasty burnt filter flavor and very little vapor so i posted a question on vapor talk and someone gave me a url for this vid. Now i am getting more flavor than ever and a little bit more vapor that the first day i was using my atty.

  • @turtle11c glad you could get use out of the info and congrats on vaping!

  • Perfection. Thanks for this!

  • @xlr8up awesome! glad it helped =]

  • by the way , DO NOT OPEN Cartomizers , is no way yo kan put them back.! i try and i ruin the rezistence inside not exactly ruined but on my model it whas not posibile to put it back .i now is not about what i say in the video but just say somting i experience .

  • @yonutztuning lol yeah, cartos are made to just be cartos, no real mods for them lol

  • Nice video , apreciate yor work .

  • @yonutztuning no problem! thanks for the view and comment!

  • sensitive spot you want to avoid touching lol.. yeh but great vid thanks helped so much just got first atty and i was like wtf this tastes like shit. on a riva 900milli i took all that shit out thanks to you man HV

  • @graffsucks lol yeah, there's a few TWSS moments in there hahahaha. not a problem just glad the info on the video could help, those damn wicks are a pain in the ass! lol

  • Hi is it normal for your throat to get hot when your vaping?. My throat gets hot and im not sure if thats normal...

  • @JusticeFlash i'm not a medical doctor so i couldnt really comment. personally i dont dont ever get that sensation, throat hit: yes but getting hot i'm unsure, no one's ever had that question before lol - maybe an allergic reaction to PG? try some VG based juices and see if that helps >_<

  • @phee303 thanks bro i think thats the problem. i havent tried vg juice yet.

  • @JusticeFlash not a problem. i dont have a PG sensitivity but i do prefer VG over PG, its just smoother and produces much more vapor =]

  • good vid, but you do know you can replace the coils with nicrome wire as long as you get the right gauge.

  • @geneofthelamp thanks! as for replacing the nicrome coil, its way too much of a hassle =P

  • @phee303 well like I said as long as you have the right gauge wires and also the necessary tools it's possible.

I've been able to knock one out (fully repaired) in about 15mins and they'll last anywhere from 1-3 months if all of the components have been cleaned and soldered correctly.

  • Thanks for the great tip phee! I just did this on a brand new atty and I get very, very little primer taste now. I'll be doing this to my attys from now on.

  • @wolfen1057 not a problem! glad u're getting use out of the info =] yeah, i definitely do this with all my attys before i vape =P removing the bridge however, is a different story - happy vaping!

  • @phee303 Though for some reason it seems to lighten the draw a bit. Unless it's all in my head.

  • @wolfen1057 lol sometimes i notice it does and sometimes i don't feel any difference =P

  • This was an interesting vid, for sure. The thought of inhaling burned plastic (or fiberglass?) from atomizer threads seems even worse than inhaling burned paper & leaves from tobacco cigs. ? What do you make of this? Great vids, btw.

  • @BiologicalUnit2380 the way that tobacco is cured industrially has to be way worse than just paper or plastic, thats just my opinion =P thanx for the view and comment!

  • thanks phee i just ruined three perfectly good attys soon after pulling the wicks they just burnt up bang bang bang 44 bucks down the drain once again thanks phee

  • @stevejs100 sorry to hear that, this mod is for drippers only and not cart users. also you do have to be pretty careful not to mess with that coil =] btw you're paying way too much for your attys - sorry again if the mod didnt work for you like it did for others but its definitely a "try at your own risk" kinda thing. crazy that u burned up 3 though =T

  • @phee303 ya i was using them for dripping but i had to use so little juice when dripping to get them to perfom they were just to hot and burned out the reason i pay to much for attys is that i live in canada and two of the attys i burnt up were ego xl attys and they run for about 16 bucks a piece but after that experience i will never be doing that again he no hate still love your vids keep them comin

  • @stevejs100 thanks man really sorry the mod didnt work out for ya =T (cant win'em all, ryte?)

  • @stevejs100 $44 for 3 atomizers is insane. I usually buy 3 packs for $24 with free 3 day shipping from VaporTalk.

  • @FarFromAverageJoe ya plus i have to pay 8 dollars shipping for 3-5 day shipping

  • @stevejs100 Oh wow, that's just absurd. I hate to sound like I'm advertising or something, but definitely go check out VaporTalk. They've always taken care of me.

  • Respond to this video...ya plus i have to pay 8 dollars for 3-5day shipping its pretty brutal but you got to remember were only 30 million people trying to run the largest country on earth

  • fantastic! it gives better flavour and great throat hit! i hope this way will not sacrifice on life span of the attys. anyway thanks for free and valuabe info

  • @shanitkd your welcome! and if anything it should prolong the life of your atty since the wick isn't melting and gunking up the coil =] happy vaping!

  • Thank you so much for this tutorial and the one on how to de-bridge! I have two de-wicked 510's and one de-wicked Mega atty. All of them vape like champs now! I screwed up the one I tried to de-bridge, but it was getting ready for the trash can anyway. I think I might de-wick all of my atty's from now on! This is awesome!

  • @womanofheart awesome! thanks for the view and comment =] those wicks can be such a downer =P happy vaping!

  • That's awesome. I always wondered if you could take out the wick without damaging it. Thanks for the vid, I'm definitely gonna try it on my ego atty. I only drip and I can tell it's getting rather gunky lately.

  • @sanatxabat you're going to be quite surprized with the results! glad you could get use out of the info! happy vaping!

  • @phee303 Yeah, it worked and made it hit better. But I still have some wick left inside (after long use it became slightly melted to the metal). So, I guess that will have to stay until I can find the smaller tweezers or something. I'm definitely gonna try it on my brand new atomizer. Thanks though. I definitely subscribed. You on ECF?

  • @sanatxabat thnx for the support =] yeah the melted wick is impossible to get out! i'd just live with it until the atty dies. that coil can be very delicate and depending on the duration of that wick heated that stuff may never come out =P yeah i'm on ecf but i'm hardly in the forums anymore >_< i'm there under phee

  • OMG this is GREAT! I tried it on an atty that was underperforming and it made it vape like new! More flavor, more vapor, better TH!

I just did the same for all 4 attys in my rotation and it made them ALL better! SO easy too--took all of 10 minutes to do all 4 including testing each one!

    Thanks!

  • @Marckymarc71 thats great! really glad people are getting use out of the info i'm putting out there! as always, happy vaping!

  • After viewing this mod I now remove the wicks from all my attys. I don't, however, remove the bridge (I did this once). If you leave your bridge in tact you CAN use carts successfully and no differently than if you had the wick. I direct drip at home and use cartridges when I'm out of the house. I give this mod two very fat thumbs up!

  • @noxiousmuse glad you could get use out of the info! have you tried cartomizers yet? much less maintenance and work just as great as regular attys! no wick to remove just fill and go =] thanks for the view, comment and thumbs!

  • I just started vapeing a few weeks ago and have since totally given up traditional cigarettes. How will taking out the wick improve the vapor and taste?

  • @alianchild its really a mod for people who are experiencing the burnt taste or if you're looking to revive a die'n atty. there's fibers that will fuse with the coil and thats the main point of the video. one more note, this is for drippers ONLY if you're using carts the video need not apply =P happy vaping

  • @phee303 I have found that I am tending to drip well before the cart is even half empty, for more flavor. If I were to just drip, what does that entail?

  • @alianchild if you only drip its a good mod to try out - i mean it doesnt hurt your atty whatsoever as long as you're careful taking the wick out but just keep in mind that once you take the wick out you can no longer use carts

  • Thanks for the tutorial, it really helped. And it's "fell" swoop, not "foul" swoop. :)

  • @TheIceCreamEmperor hahahaha thanks, i have a turrets dyslexia sometimes and engrish iz my second language lol but i'll definitely remember "fell" =] thanks for the view and comment!

  • Awesome!!!

  • Awesome..........111

  • @Aspenleaf22 thanks!

  • n how do u do that lil trick at the beginning????that shits bad

  • @fuck6you6pay6me i teach u how to do that in my 1year anniversary video =]

  • @phee303 hell yeah thanks man i just did it

  • @fuck6you6pay6me lol awesome

  • I hope this is safe to do on this new LR atty I have (901).

I did this to an old 901 atty that had poor vapor, flavor and draw. Worked like a charm!

  • @Kafiristanica awesome! glad the info could help - personally though i hate the 901 i have to really be honest and say that may be the only atty that i dislike =P but to-each-is-own =]

  • thanks man this really helped. my atomizer was starting to work shitty. once i did this its like brand new. ill subscribe

  • @fuck6you6pay6me awesome! really glad so many people can get such use out of the info =] thanks for the sub as well!

  • phee303...just checking in. I did this mod about 4 months ago....My atty is still performing like day one !! I only blow it once a week as my cleaning method. Coil is still clean as a whistle. Those wicks really mess up the coil over time. Wicks are only important to pre-filled cart people.

I never get that burnt tea kettle taste and my juices taste heavenly.

    DRIPPING ONLY !!!

Can't thank you enough. I do this for many people who I advise to just drip as well.

    josh

  • @JoshBowren awesome! i've kinda moved away from standard attys but i definitely still do this on my attys (when i do use them) but i'm glad to hear a followup from you! thanks a lot for views and definitely the followup! happy vaping!

  • Great video and very good info. I was told doing this makes dripping and cleaning much easier. Now that I have seen this that makes great sense.

  • @ru42 thanks for the view and comment! =]

  • top gear in the BACKROUND!

  • @andrehellm13 yes! i love top gear, the american version doesn't look so hot but sadly i'll probably watch it anyways lol

  • @phee303 i even watch the australian topgear.lol but nothing compares to jeremy ,hamster and james.

  • @andrehellm13 couldn't agree more with that =]

  • did this too, threads and bridge. my atty actually somewhat works now...it's been shitty since the day i got it. thanks phee!

  • @msandonato23 no problem, thanks for the view and comment!

  • Thx. Works great. Saved me an atty just now.

  • @tinkledoomhammer awesome, glad the info could be useful =] thanks for the view and comment!

  • amazing vapor at intro dood!! ^^b

  • @KangGonnaJam thanks!

  • i bought a trio and only had it for a week and now the atomizer wont heat up and blow smoke anymore but the led on the tip still turns on what do i do?

  • @haggard969 sounds like your atty died, depending on how you care for it or even by just luck attys can die on you very quickly. time to replace the atty - hope that helps

  • if my atty dies, and i want to revive it, does this work for cart use? i use blue foam mods with my magma 510

  • @msandonato23 i don't recommend this mod if you're a cart user, its really just for drippers. this wont revive a dead atty but it may bring back one thats about to die. personally i would ditch the carts and cart mods and just drip - hope that helps =]

  • I've only had my eGo's a few days now. I noticed that gunky blob of goop and the fibers inside the atomizers. Wondered if it was supposed to be there. I just pulled it out of one of my atomizers. Easy! Thanks for the tip! I'm gonna direct drip till I get some blue foam to try in my cartridges. This helps!

  • @JayH7745 awesome! glad you got use out of the video. personally i would avoid the carts all together and stick with dripping or switch to cartomizers. carts are too much of a hassle, who knows though, you may end up really liking the cart mods - in my experience though, i freaking hate carts =P

  • IT WORK!.. IT SOLVE THAT AWFUL BURNT TASTE!.... on my 510 atty!.. thanks!

  • @JohnHolmesDick not a problem! thanks for the view and comment!

  • Comment removed

  • @OGCrystalBay thanks! and thanks for the view and comment!

  • Very nice camera work ! good job

  • I have a Janty eGo and there seems to be no wick in the atty.

  • @AZUREGLIDE yeah, some attys will not have a wick =]

  • i wanted to ask whats the fabric inside near the atomizer? Those thread things? Because i found out my best atty has a thread right through it, and its amazing.

  • @thecousin some attys have the wick threaded in the coil and some dont, i find that the ones that do wick amazing and dont need to be removed as long as you keep it wet but the ones that are just there under the bridge (in my opinion) just need to be taken out to neutralize the burn taste - thanks for the view and comment!

  • @phee303 I noticed hehe. But what is the actual fabric used? Ive thrown away all the fibers, i want to try thread a atty thats why hehe.

  • @thecousin ohhh i have no idea - some kind of poly fiber i'm assuming, nylonish plasticish, your guess is as good as mine lol

  • i just tried this since i prefer dripping to carts and my 510 is vaping like a champ again! thanks for this tutorial. i just had a quick question, what preventative maintenance do you do if any on your 510 atomizers to make them last longer? i had my first atty for 12 days and it died on me today. sad, sad, day. =( lol.

  • @misschristiana not a problem! glad i could help =] the only preventative maintenance is do is do a dry burn once a week using a HV device; are you on a mod yet or are you just on a standard battery?

hey 12 days isn't too bad, i've watched people go through one every week or even less!

do you know what cartomizers are? you should try those out, they're my favorite way to vape: cheap, easy to use, car friendly, durable (for the cost anyhow) and loads of flavor!

  • Thank u!!

  • @AnilomNor noooo problem! jus glad i could help!

  • lol i heard of tweakers that blow smoke into bubbles like that ... lol

  • @AFirelnside lol!

  • @phee303 lol

  • TRS fan AND vaper?

    sub'd man

  • @KickMyJuice hahaha yes! and thanks!

  • @phee303 Thanks for the vid too! My 510s were basically paper weights compared to the BE112 (801 penstyle) until i saw this vid. Made a HUGE difference.

Also, I removed the wick from my BE112, but there seems to be some sticking out of a black coil below the mesh part on both my LR and reg atties. Doesnt seem possible to remove. Do you have any experience with these atties?

  • @KickMyJuice not a problem! i personally havent used the BE112 but my understanding is that they've got the same anatomy as 801s. if you cant get them out my assumption is that they're caked on and/or fused to the coil and forcing them out could damage your coil (heating element) so i'd have to advise not doing so but if you're going to try BE CAREFUL or you'll be out an atty.

  • So I have a question. I pulled all the threads out of a 510 atty and it stopped vaping completely. I can see if heating up but it never seems to heat the juice in a cart anymore.

  • @siesonekmk yeah this method is for drippers only, not really for cart users. to drip take your bottle of juice and drop 3 drops directly onto the atomizer and vape until you get that burnt tinge and then repeat - this is known as dripping and is most veterans' preferred vaping method

  • @phee303 Got it thanks. I guess I'll keep this in the house for drippign since I don't want to carry a bottle of juice with me. What is a good way to drip directly without flooding the atty? Thanks for your help I am new to this.
