  • I think it is mainly a American problem that some priest do not approve of kneeling.

  • Cardinal Arinze is awesome! :D Beware Catholic faithful, there are many in the Church trying to elevate the Latin Mass above the Venacular Mass. Follow the pope and you won't go wrong. Beware of so called "Catholic," propaganda. If it smells fishy, stay away.

  • This is the first time I hear someone explain what the recognition by the Holy See means. When I defended a document put out by former Cardinal Ratzinger to a priest who had openly preached against during his sermon at a Sunday Mass I reminded him of the importance of the recognitio. He smiled at that point and said Pope John Paul II was an old man and he didn't know what he was signing. Imagine, from a priest. This matter was communicated in writing to the bishop and the bishop defended him.

  • @knarledknuckles Again, I repeat, the bishop took no disciplinary action against this priest and denied in his letter that the priest had spoken against the Magisterium of the Church. The priest was pastor of this parish for almost 2 decades. Can you imagine the harm he did to the faithful? Undermining and mocking the teachings of Holy Mother Church? If he dared to preach like this publicly can you imagine what he taught in private?

  • i cant even imagine how smart Arinze must b

  • I have watched the videos of this Cardinal and hope that he continues to preach orthodoxy without fear. This is the kind of man needed as Pope, to hammer the heretics into submission.

  • During the first four centuries of the Church, the universal custom in the Church was to receive the Sacred Species in the hand, and the faithful would approach the altar, bowed but standing. This was confirmed in the writings of St Ambrose (339-397 A.D.), St Augustine (354-430 A.D.), St Basil (330-379 A.D), St John Chrysostom (345-407 A.D.), and St John Damascene (675-750 A.D.), to mention but a few.

The tradition of receiving the Sacrament kneeling date from the time of Pope Gregory.

  • Our Bishop of Arlington, VA told us we could not even genuflect while in line to go up to communion.

  • Cardinal Arinze maybe a possible future Pope?

  • Death to modernism! Long live Christ the King!

  • Don't be fooled by the Demon, JP II started the desacralization of the church by allowed communion in the hand, standing for communion, altar girls and the many liturgical abuses we see today. These were all abuses designed by SATAN to weaken the church. And Weaken it has! Look where the catholic church is today. Broke due the sexual abuse scandals, empty pews. These are the fruits of Vatican II. It's just a Mess!

  • Thanks so much for after reading all your comments, i felt i am

not alone...this progressive pastor in our parish told me that we look like ghosts with a veil...there are only 3 of us wearing veil in a parish more than a thousand and five hundred parishioners.. Unfortunately the TLM is celebrated only once a yr in Tokyo..

  • Cardinal Arinze is sooooo awesome!

  • Thank you Cardinal!!! I wish they were never given the slightest opportunity to have the option because it has become the norm and people have refused communion unjustly.

  • Great post, thank you. Thank you Cardinal Arinze for this presentation. Even the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops must answer to the Holy See. The Congregation of the Doctrine of Faith (CDF) at the Holy See, under authorization and approval of the Pope has the final say on these issues.

  • Thank you for posting...Thank you Cardinal Arinze for your clear explaination on this, as we in our parish, we are always reprimanded by our Pastor not to kneel, and prohibits us to genuflect when entering the Church, and before receiving Holy Communion, and scolded us by our genuflection... Lets all pray for all priests...This video gave me peace of mind... and offer all the pains i experienced with those priests... God bless

  • @meannjpn

i felt sad when i read your comment... Try a traditional Mass or Tridentine Mass; Jesus is highly revered there. Even at every instance the name "jesus" is said, whether it be homily or gospel, everyone bows towards the altar...its so wonderful

  • I am very grateful that the Church is reasonable on this issue. In the East they stand at the moment of communion. The reason? You are in the presence of Royalty. Although I do not need a cane (yet!) I have torn cartilage in both knees and need to stand. May the reasonable option to allow reception of communion without kneelers be available, especially for worshipful visitors to a parish who do not happen to have canes or wheelchairs but simply cannot kneel anymore.

    Christ IS Risen! +Peace+

  • Pope Paul VI in "Memoriale Domini" hi letter to the bishops, stated that "Communion on the tongue MUST BE RETAINED". It should be the Holy Father Only who states How Communion should be received. Not one Pope was in favor of Communion in the hand. It began out of deceit and we now live with witnessing abuse after abuse! Receive ON THE TONGUE while KNEELING!

  • Priests have over & over again tried to refuse people or give them a hard time when they kneel. Onc a priest told be I was being disobedient because I knelt. Most bishops are modern and allow pastors and priests to try and intimidate the faithful. That's why we should attend the traditionial Latin Mass. Don't take abuse from these modernist priests!

  • Kolbe Kolbe Kolbe!!! I might just be your biggest fan! haha It is so refreshing to "meet" another young guy (such as myself) who LOVES being Catholic and ALL that goes with it! And yet, you're not a jerk about it--which is nice. Unfortunately, all to often, in an attempt to promote reverence, people can get just plain old nasty. Ironic much? Anyway, thanks for all the great videos and information. Keep it comin'!

  • There are indeed a few of us young guys around (such as myself as well) who love the Catholic church and its teachings. I am also a big fan of Kolbe's videos. But, we need more young people to spread the Good News and bear witness to the fullness of the Christian faith found only in Christ's one true church.

  • @mhentho What I do is kneel down with my eyes closed and tongue out. If he cant see my eyes, then I don't hear anything... It is just Jesus and I...

  • @mhentho I forgot to mention... I continue to kneel with my eyes closed and tongue out until I have recieved communion or I am forcibly removed. :). Never has happened yet... and I have yet to see an evil eye or hear a word ;-). God bless you and sorry you were denied your freedom.

  • I receive on the tongue but more often than not the priest or extraordinary minister's finger brushes my tongue. I don't know if it is because I am doing something wrong (I'm a convert and just imitate what I see...I was never properly taught what to do).

Anyone have advice for this? Every once in a while maybe 10-20 percent there is no finger-tongue contact but I'd like to do all I can to increase that. Thanks :)

  • @Quatsch83 You place your tongue on your lip not beyond it (or outside it), and open your mouth wide enough. God bless

  • @Quatsch83

Dont worry...They will have a cloth along with them called "Purificator" and they shall rub and clean their hands if they touch your tongue....

  • So Gabe, is that "Prot. n. 47/03/L" ? Is that right? there is some kind of character in between there. Is there a character I should be putting for the search?

  • @1Hope4All exactly as shown the website that should come up is adoremus

  • Great job!

  • Thank you Holy Father for this document!! I love Cardinal Arinze!! All Glory to God!

  • @1Hope4All Watch it again I put up a document to print.

  • There was a note in our bulletin that it is normative for our diocese to not kneel but to stand and bow profoundly or make some other sign of reverence. Receiving Communion on the tongue or in the hand are both considered normal. AFAIK nobody in our own parish has attempted to receive the Blessed Sacrament kneeling so it hasn't been an issue, but a message appearing in the bulletin for the diocese means the issue has been raised somewhere in the diocese.

  • @BeingBob Watch this again I posted an official document to print out.

  • @BeingBob see how the bulletin worded it.

to not kneel". How dare they! Just like they teach the children to receive in the hand, standing. And they do this even with the 1st Communicants. They will pay for this! DON't ALLOW THEM TO GET AWAY WITH IT! BE AN EXAMPLE and Kneel and receive on the Tongue! Or go to the Latin Mass, the Holy Mass!

  • Tell that to the priests! Make it the rule, so we don't have to be oppressed. Stop being so wishy-washy your eminences.

  • @tjttzcspplt watch this video again... I posted an official church document.

  • Thank you for this movie! You are a soldier in Christ's army! I will email it to my friends, & Facebook it.

    God Bless

  • Is this the next pope?

  • @DangeloM27 there will be last pope after Benedict XVI
