  • i don;t know why people are the way they are but they are who they are and its OK. :D

  • Tourette's blows, I'm not sure if I have it and I don't plan on seeing a doctor. If it's not life threatening, forget it. xD I have tics on an off, I put my index knuckle in my mouth and make a meow noise occasionally, I lower my eyebrows and my eyes roll up like I'm pissed, I roll them down, strain them, tighten my throat, twitch my wrists to the back, etc. I've had it since I was 6 but. I never did go to the doctor.

  • is shaking and lowering the head fast like when your neck gets really stiff are those symptoms?

  • @StrawberrysRule1

    they could very well be

  • @TheFlametroll I really hope you are joking as I would NOT consider it anything like a cure. Lobotomy was a result of desperation. It was banned and abandoned for a reason.

  • You're really brave for posting this video. Good luck with everything!

  • moi aussi jai la tourette et mon tic cest de me masturber sur des video sur youtube. cest ca que je suis en train de faire encore, et jy peu rien :(

  • Stay strong, you're a beautiful woman. All you can do is the best you can do.

  • I know how you can calm your tics and sontrol them if you want me to tell you. my mom used to work for tourettes patients and it worked for them

  • @Tianashay12

    yes, tell me please

  • @idranktheseawater There are always little things that you do before you tics start and when you feel those things coming you can stop them and therefore it stops the tic. For example, if you stomach gets tight before you have a motor tic, calm down and loosen the muscles in your stomache and the tic wont begin. I hope I helped and you can identify you begin parts of a tic and stop them. This worked for a lot of people she worked with.

  • OMG!!! I have the same thing too!

  • you're a beautiful girl! stay strong!

  • Im so sorry <3 Keep holding on :')

  • Thank you for putting up the video.

  • You're a very brave person for sharing this with the world! Hopefully people will come to understand that your condition has nothing to do with your intelligence.

  • Smoke Weed.

  • @hahemeh shut up

  • Despite your situation with tourette, you are still cute as hell

  • i'm sorry, but apparently you have double personality, and they talk one with another '-'

  • :(

I know how you feel, and the "sort of like stuttering" thing has gotten me a few times too >_>.

I don't have severe coprolalia though, its mostly body and ocd related tics.

  • OMG I thing one of my friends has the same thing. I thought she had some depression problems but now thanks to your vid I recognize it now I hope u guys find the cure for it

  • I was wondering, your French right? Do you have voice tics when you speak in French just like you do when you speak in English? By the way, i'm doing research on Tourette's for my Psychology class and your videos have helped me a lot to see what it's like. I look up to you, you're a very strong woman and you're very brave. I'm proud of you<3

  • @xenagoesrawr

yes, I have them in French too

    and thank you

  • When she talks about subjects other than her si or ed, she doesn't have tics. She's mentioned that in a previous video, but in case you dont know that's why.

  • @TheAnonymousOH, are you saying she's lying cause I swear to you shes not. She gets the tics other times. Like in Walmart or in the car, but when she talks about it it tics her off even more. She can't control her tics so it's not her fault if she said more in the start and less at the end.

  • I watch you, but IDK..You say the tics only happen when you're talking (or maybe I'm misunderstanding your video), but when you talk up a storm toward the last half of your video there's almost no tics. Whereas in the beginning a lot come out but not very much talking..

  • @TheAnonymousOH There is no definite diagnostic test for that condition, the dr can only go on self report. Also when a person has had a long history of problems you have to wonder what the probability is that a person has SI, ED and tourettes. It is rare for someone to develop full blown tourettes and go from almost no symptoms to full blown disability in only 3 months beyond the age of 12. Her own psy dr didn't believe it and refused to refer a specialist.

  • @GhostOfChannelingu

Do you practice being an ass hole?

  • @idranktheseawater What i said was valid

  • @GhostOfChannelingu

    No

    It wasnt

My psychiatrist believed me from the start, and so did my doctor and now my neurologist.

What is this crap you are spreading about how I could be faking. I honestly thought you knew me better than that.

  • @idranktheseawater why did your dr only do the test for epilepsy and not send you to a neurologist until you insisted on it. I never said you were faking. I don't believe you are faking. But it should be noted that you were convinced you had tourettes before you ever saw a dr about it. You had done research. I cannot understand how classical tourettes can develop within a few months in one's late 20s.

  • @GhostOfChannelingu

IT didnt develop over a few months. It developed overnight. ;) In my book I talk about how it developed.

And I wasnt convinced of this being tourettes before seeing the neurologist. It was him that brought up the idea. He recognized it right away, but wanted to do more tests before diagnosing.

  • @idranktheseawater I must be misremembering all this. Ok then you are one in a million who develop it in their 20's

  • @TheAnonymousOH There is also a strong reward that could induce someone to have this illness that cannot be proven or disproven and that is lifetime income and benefits. The state pays your rent, gives you a monthly allowance, pays for everything. It's done all the time in the US.

  • @TheAnonymousOH I'm not saying she's faking. But it's also the case that when a person has been in and out of mental hospitals for a good part of their life you have to think critically. If it's due to mental issues rather than actual tourettes I would expect that time will tell. Medications should not work in this case or work only briefly. She has said hosp. staff frequently call her an attention seeker. How come? Trained staff know better than I.

  • @TheAnonymousOH It can't be healthy for someone who does not have their SI or ED under control to devote their entire life to reading about the illness, talking about the illness, researching the illness, writing about the illness to the exclusion of everything else. Even selling products dealing with the illness. At some point she should try to have a normal life.

  • @jakeallen86 I no I like want to just once see wut it feels like .. :/

  • I'm not trying to say it's a good thing, because i'm sure it's an awful thing to live with, but I have a strange want for tourrettes. Not just the coprolalia, but all of it.

    Damn, I'm a fucking masochist.

  • vulgar ?

  • @subzeroicefrost

    swearing

  • @idranktheseawater Oh, I wasn't asking about the meaning. I was just sayn, it's pronounced "vulgar", or is that French or sumin?

  • 2:42 im sorry but seven WAS cute!! ^^ lol

  • Hi Melissa, I've just seen this video.

Some of your tics seems to be kind of related to stuttering.

I do not know much about tourette's so I am not sure if this could help but there is a method for people who stutter to learn to talk fluently by learning a special breathing technic which works really well. (I don't stutter, so I only know it from TV documentaries.)

    Big hugs, take care, Judith

  • @crazymadonna I have Tourette syndrome, and sometimes people think i stutter. It's not the same though. Tics come from the inside and have to get out, no matter if you're breathing, talking, moving, bicycling or what. People seem to be able to end stuttering after courses. With Tourette you are born, the tics differ with the years but are always there one way or another. When the 'stutter' is gone, my tics will have to find another way out: through jerky movements, or sounds, or shouting.

  • I love watching your videos. It makes me feel like I could try and be a stronger person. Thanks for being such a great role model. Seriously, I check every day for new videos from you. Thank YOU for being such a great inspiration.

  • Your a cute girl and seem very smart. Writing is a passion of mine too. Its so easy for me, its like breathing. Anyways keep your head up and look out for friendly advice from your neighborhood fatty

  • You're a cool girl! Your vlogs are interesting and informative. You have a sweet personality and even with the hard things you go through you have some great coping skills. I love the Why?and just because! It is cute.

Reminds me of my nieces when they were little.

  • I have do repeat words and move my arms and body but normally it happens right before I am about to have a seizure. Most of the repeating is in my head, which drives me crazy. I hope they get better, my boyfriend has tourettes but his are just him moving his head up and down.

  • Yestaday i was at the store and starting saying no, stop, ok, hi. over and over again. and then when i was at the cash register, i started banging on it and saing no, stop, ok hi. so ya. they thought i was like phyco. (cant blame them) and they carried my bags out of the store for me, and escorted me out. ahhhh the wonders of tourettes

  • I'm sorry, but the "seven" one was cute :P

  • You are so brave.

  • Also, have you tried Tetrabenazine to manage your tics? I was on it for years and it was very helpful in decreasing the severity of my tics. If you ever have Tourettes-related questions send me a message and I'll be glad to share my experiences with you!! What helped, what didn't...

  • I wrote a poem on echolalia, which is a part of my Tourettes that I haven't grown out of. I find the whole concept of coprolalia interesting, because I was raised in a family that never swore. I mean nobody said shutup or stupid or even crap!! So what I did is I would write down swearwords, or flex my middle finger up as hard as I could... in my coat pocket or under the table where nobody could see. I hated it.

  • Just because... Thats a cool tic, IMHO. I hope I don't ever actually say stuff when I tic... I squeak and tic my neck and my mom keeps telling me to stop... If I started swearing shed disown me!

  • @popsensationjanna I'm so glad I'm not the only one that squeaks! Everyone either always laughs at me or says aww that's cute. I don't really find it cute. Its frustrating at times. And my mom honestly tells me the same thing. She always gets mad at me. Unfortunately mine has developed into more violent tics and swearing in addition to the squeaks. =[ I wish you the best of luck though! <3

  • Your vids show how life is with Ticks , and eating disorder. I'm sure if has helped people understand friend and family better, who face the same issue. Thanks for sharing ......

  • Living with parents is giving you tics. Make her move out.

  • Hey hun! The video won't load properly on my laptop, and I haven't been following very well lately, so I'm not sure how much you tourettes has progressed. It is tiring and exhausting...and it gets old, I know. But just hang in there and we'll get through it somehow...

My tics come and go a lot, but they've been flaring up a lot lately... I started hitting the metal cabinet by the register where I work, and it aggravates me sooo bad! Hurts too! Lolz!

  • keep strong <3

  • <3

  • I understand this. I'll repeat things that are said to me in an accent or sound funny in my head. Whenever I'm near water I usually repeat 'WE'RE ON A BOAT' in an american accent and I have no idea where I picked it up from, I say alright, okay and hello repeatedly in a scottish accent. I will also say pissing fuck or fucking piss, and I head twitch. Its frustrating. I'm not diagnosed with tourettes, I'm diagnosed with an autistic spectrum disorder. Wonder if same part of the brain is connected.

  • hope u get well

  • wow, it must be so frustrating. i can't even imagine. you are so brave to post this. i'm sure it means a lot to others with tourettes and is a great lesson for those who have never experienced it. thank you.

  • I love your videos and also have a question. Are any if your ticks in french?? Or all in english? (Sorry for typos! Im typing on my phone)

  • @Musicluvrzunite132

    Some are French. Mostly English.

  • Ha i love how you said seven!! Its my lucky number! Lol i live your videos and also have a questiob. You speak french well right? Are any of your ticks in french or only in english?

  • Aww honey! You look so exhausted from it. :( Big hugs! I can imagine it would be very frustrating.

I understand that if you talk about it it makes it worse. I have restless leg syndrome. Basically I can't stop moving when I want to sleep. It drives me insane! Anyway, if I think about it or mention it it's like guaranteed that I'm going to have it that night. I have to play mind games with myself to get it out of my head.

  • @c8kwalk

    I have tics every day

    I have TS

I was diagnosed by a neurologist

  • You have a strong and wonderful smile. The smiling shows your strength, keep battling.

I know ,I want to stop battling as well, but thats neuro stuff, you can`t beat it let it pass..

  • Seven? Haha, that was cute! It's like Tourette's from a Fellini movie set!

  • And this is why I refuse to laugh at tourettes jokes and get pretty angry with people who make them...

You seem to deal with your tourettes very nicely, which I find humbling. I don't have a tic disorder and I couldn't imagine my life with one. But you, for the most part, take this all in stride. I look up to you for that. You truly are an amazing person.

  • i truly wish you didn't have to suffer through what you do. But you are strong, and it's admirable

  • I wonder if it is because you are super anxious bout battling the ed without the support of the Douglas?

  • Hang tight Melissa. You're an amazing person I know you will find love and happiness.

  • Are you happy to be home from the eating disorder clinic? :) I think you did a really good job, you should be proud of yourself <3 I'm trying so hard to get your book.. but nowhere has it here -__-. I can see why your ticks must annoy you.. but I'm glad you try not to let if effect you hun <3 I'm glad that you feel comfortable enough not to wear your arm warmers on camera, even if the scars don't show <3 Thats great!

  • You're so brave, I envy you. You're strong too. Keep making videos :)
